PLAÇA DE L'ESGLÉSIA / CHURCH SQUARE Church square is a church located in the center of Santpedor in the Catalan religion of Bages where most people are catholic. The main entrance is from the XII century.

TORRE D'AIGÜES DE SANTPEDOR &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Hello we are Carla, Jana and I, Martí and now we are going to present the Torre d’aigues of Santpedor, in English it is called the water tower. The water tower is a construction of Santpedor situated in Can Jorba, this tower is a construction of Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Now Can Jorba is a residence but in the 19th century there was a house and they didn’t have any water or electricity. The people that lived in their house were rich but they had a problem because they had to go to the fountain or the well to get water. They decided to build a water tower to have running water inside the house.&nbsp; The water tower is situated in the highest point in the land. That's all, thank you for your attention.

Cal Xacó is an ancient house in the center of Santpedor. The house was built between XVII-XVIII century. It belonged to the Dantí family, but it was known for being next to the tobacco shop. The house was refurbished recently.

In Santpedor you will see five arches that were part of the ancient wall. In the past there were 7 arches but now there are only five. In the Spanish civil war (1936-39) soldiers hid themselves from the other side.&nbsp; On the right side of the square there is the town hall. It isn’t big but it isn’t small, either. There, the major, Xavier Codina, and the counselors meet. Civil servants also work here for the city. There is a well inside. On the other side of the square there is a small chapel, it is called Sant Andreu.&nbsp;

The main square in Santpedor is called “La Plaça Gran” . It is very big if we consider that Santpedor is a small village. It was built in the 12th century to give importance to the village because in the past Santpedor was a market town and it was very famous.&nbsp; Nowadays there are restaurants and a lot of houses surrounding the square. The square is rectangular and it has relevant characteristics of typical Catalan architecture.

First of all, we are going to explain a little bit of Santpedor’s history. Originally, Santpedor was called Santeperador because of a river that passes through Santpedor. It is a historic village that was created thousands of years ago. The most ancient document we preserve refers to the year 937.&nbsp; Santpedor is located in the Bages region, near Manresa which is the capital. Santpedor is a village with a population of 7.554 inhabitants.

LOkAL OF THE VILLAGE In the youth centre of the&nbsp;village , you can go and play table tennis , do the homework ,read magazines,attend lectures… The local is public , municipal and the space has free access .The lokal offers 3 services : Youth center , information point and service to the entities of the town . PLAÇA DE LA FONT&nbsp; This square was founded in 1978 in Santpedor, on Carrer Clot de les àguiles in the old town. It Is a square area a popular architecture name “plaça de la font” because in the past in this place there used tp be a “the source of water down the stairs” , the only important point of running water supply in the center of the village hereby the name of the square.
