ABOUT THE PROJECT

The chemistry of natural substances has significantly contributed to the development of modern medicine.
Plants remain the predominant source of medicines for majority of the population.
We note that essential oils, volatile and fragrant molecules extracted from these plants, are known by their therapeutic virtues such as the effects anti-diabetics.
In particular, the use of plants with medicinal properties is common among all patients over the world.

Making a common herbarium of plants that have antidiabetic effect
The students described:

- Laurus nobilis- lovor, laurel
- Foeniculum vulgare- komorač, fennel
- Ocimum basilicum- bosiljak, bazil
- Salvia officinalis- kadulja, sage
- Cinnamomum verum- cimet, cinnamon
- Petroselinum crispum - peršin, parsley
- Vaccinium sect. Cyanococcus - borovnica, blueberry
- Taraxacum officinalis- maslačak, dandelion
- Urtica dioica - obična kopriva, nettle
