The bee is a social insect and therefore it lives in large colonies. Each one can accommodate from 20 to 60 thousand bees and everyone plays a specific and irreplaceable task. Bees of a colony are linked together by very deep ties and everyone is ready to give all its energies and even its life for the maintenance of the colony. Their home is called beehive. The natural hive consists of several honeycombs. They are flattened and elongated, divided into hexagonal cells The life of a worker bee goes from 30 days to 6 months. 
Let's talk about bees and honey! Let's start talking about who produces honey: The bee The bee is an INSECT. It lives from 30 days to 5 years. Its body is composed by a HEAD, a THORAX and an ABDOMEN. On the head it has got 2 ANTENNAS, 2 big EYES and a mouth with a FEELER to lick and suck the flowers nectar; on the thorax it has got 2 pairs of WINGS and 6 LEGS; at the bottom of the abdomen there is a STINGER, that is a weapon of defence for itself and for the family. The whole body is wrapped in a kind of armor called Cuticle.

Forager Bees collect pollen, nectar, water and everything needs the family. They bundle and carry pollen on the bristles of their hind legs called"basket". They suck nectar from the cup of flowers, store it in the "supers bag" and transport to the hive. " 
Store-Keeper bees get nectar, turn it into honey and store it in cells. As soon as the honey is ripe, they seal the cells with wax.
