Class 3 hope you have enjoyed sharing our work this term.

We all love to read! Miss Oldham organised a special book morning. We were able to spend time reading lots of different books and then we able to choose two books to take home and share with our grown ups.

We have worked alongside our friends in the Learning Garden to build, create and explore!

Class 3 received a special visit from a bear from our story 'Silly Doggy'. The bear apologised for being a little bit silly emptying the rubbish in our classroom and we forgave him! We read lots of stories to make him happy. 

We enjoyed asking the bear lots of questions about where he came from, how he got here, what his favourite food is and what he likes to do! 

We looked at the different types of patterns we find on animals. We used chalks, oil pastels and paints to make our own animal skin.

We have enjoyed the story of 'Supertato' and how he saved the vegetables from the Evil Pea! We began by using our prior knowledge of a real life hero and how they help us. We also spoke about 'Superheroes' and their special powers. We role played saving our partners using powers just like Supertato.

We used a range of materials including potatoes to make our very own Supertato!

Mrs Ibbotson cared for our caterpillars during the Easter Holidays and when we returned to school they had all turned into beautiful butterflies. They were ready to fly away and we let them go in our Learning Garden.

We joined the rest of our Reception friends in the hall for a special assembly with Mrs Haney. The whole school wore yellow to remember and celebrate the birthday of a former pupil Michael Neophytou. 

We looked at the ways animals are kept safe in a zoo. We then designed our own enclosure to stop animals like the bear and tiger from our story escaping. We built our enclosure using wooden blocks.

We painted Supertato using different coloured paints and various sized paintbrushes to add detail to our work.

We wrote speech bubbles for the trapped vegetables using our phonic knowledge.

We enjoyed using the props to retell the story of 'Supertato' to our friends.
