We are Great

We discovered wild flowers in Forest School. They were very colourful and we loved the sunflower best!

We have been learning all about how the Earth orbits and we have day and night. We sorted pictures into what we do in the daytime and night time. 

We enjoyed working in the Creative Area using blue, green and red paints. We dipped pots into the paint and then pressed them carefully on the paper to make circle prints of different sizes. We repeated it lots of times!

Yum! Yum! Our school lunches are really tasty and we are enjoying trying new food!

We went on an Autumn walk and used our senses to discover the changes that are happening as we move from Summer to Autumn. We found lots of pinecones, different types of leaves which were all kinds of colours and sizes along with bark which had broken from the trees.

We read the book 'Here We Are' by Oliver Jeffers and how we live on planet Earth. We used Google Earth to look at our school and local area. Then we went on a walk of our school grounds to see what there is in our local area. We could see houses, shops, cars, a bus stop and roads.

Using a range of different media we created our own Earth. We looked at the land and sea as well as North and South Pole.

We have been busy in the Learning Garden working together to complete challenges and developing our gross motor skills.

'Here We Are' looked at how we belong to our families and how they are special to us. We drew our family members and spoke about how much we love them!

We have been learning all about how we are different from each other and special in our own way. We used the different things we found on our Autumn walk to make a picture of our faces. We had lots of fun!!

We began to find out about our body within our topic 'We are Great' and as part of our book 'Here We Are'. We drew round a child then used the outline to begin to label parts of the body. We spoke about how we use different body parts for different things and spoke about our 5 senses too.

We were able to talk about our memories and special days out. We listened carefully to our friends and spoke in a loud, clear voice.

We shared our summer boxes with our new friends.

During our first days in school we met new friends and our teachers.

We had lots of fun getting to know each other!

We made our faces using mirrors and a range of resources in the Fine Motor Area.
