The Adventures of Bucky the Dog

     While everyone did their own thing Bucky got the idea to go over the gate and explore. He jumped outside the gate and started walking towards the crosswalk. He patiently waited for the light and made his way to Target. He made sure to look both ways before crossing the street. He also made sure to be hidden by walking right next to people. He finally arrived at Target.

Sophia’s first published book, The Adventures of Bucky the Dog, has received high praise among her classmates for its detailed writing. Sophia's favorite character in the story is Bucky because he is the main character and he is her dog in real life.&nbsp;Her favorite page illustration is the first page drawing because there were a lot of problems while creating it and it still turned out great. Sophia is a lifelong reader whose literary interests include Adventure and fantasy. Her favorite book is Wish.&nbsp;Currently a student at Patrick Henry Math, Science, Technology Magnet Middle School who is studying to become a talk show host and would like to attend college at CSUN for their business school.&nbsp;When not writing, Sophia enjoys editing images on her phone, gaming, and spending time with family.

When he walks out of the store a wonderful aroma hits him. It was a smell that he had smelled before and if he wasn’t mistaken the aroma was coming from the taco stand. Bucky followed the scent and it led him to a taco stand. He thought of how he could get his paws on maybe at least just one. He got a brilliant idea. He thought if he sat patiently staring at the lady warming up the tortillas, that she would be so kind to spare a taco or two. He saw people come and go, taking large orders. Bucky gave the lady a little nudge.&nbsp; Then, she noticed him and gave him a couple of tortillas. He thought that would be better than nothing and just when he was thinking two meatless tortillas were better than nothing Bucky noticed a customer dropped his plate with five tacos on it. Bucky ran straight to them and ate them in less than five bites. He just couldn’t believe his luck. Right after he finished his tacos the customer started shouting at him. Bucky didn’t understand what he had done wrong. So, he decided to make a run for it before he was in trouble.

The Adventures of Bucky the Dog It was an early Monday morning. Alicia got ready for work while her two daughters, Lucia and Sophia, got ready for school. Before they left, they fed Bucky. Bucky was their pet dog. Right after, Alicia and the girls then hopped in the car and drove away to school. Bucky has always wanted to go outside because he has only seen small parts when the gate opens.

He noticed a school bus passing by full of children. Then it dawned on him. School was out. He thought, “I better get home, Alicia and the girls will be home any minute now.” Bucky ran all the way home. It took him five minutes to get there. Bucky then realizes Alicia and the girls are about to pull up at the house and without thinking jumps over the gate. Alicia could have swore she saw him jumping, but thinks her eyes were deceiving her. &nbsp;Bucky thought, “Phew.”&nbsp; When they got inside the gate they were so happy to see him. Not knowing the day he had called him a good boy.&nbsp;

He finally arrived at Target. Before he went in he thought it would be like heaven, but with treats everywhere! He snuck in through the doors right past security and shopping carts. Bucky suddenly stopped in the aisles and found dog treats. Somehow the items got in his mouth.&nbsp; Suddenly Bucky heard over the speaker “ Dog in aisle 3.”&nbsp; He all of a sudden got nervous but didn’t let himself get scared. Bucky picks one last treat and makes his way to the store entrance.&nbsp; As he ran through people he heard customers say “ Mom look at the dog. Can I keep him?”&nbsp;
