I woke up to a buzzing noise coming from my bedside table. I turned to my right to look at my phone and saw that I got a text from my dad. I never spoke to my dad anymore ever since my dad and mum split a couple years before, so I was surprised to see he texted. I read the message and my heart dropped to my stomach. I read the message out loud: “ I have a job for you Zack, I need you to kill this man for me who is based in Manchester you can get 10,000 pounds, it is risky and its a job that could get you killed. However if you don’t do it, I will kill you.”
I couldn’t believe my eyes! I knew I should tell my mum but she would freak out. I will go to school like normal for this week, then I can escape Friday night and go to Waterloo station to get a train to Manchester I thought to myself. I couldn’t sleep that night, I was thinking about what my dad said. I woke up from my alarm and rolled out of my bed, I went down the stairs and trudged into the kitchen grabbing some food before leaving. I hopped into my car and drove to school. My car was a old vintage car I got from my grandfather when he past away, it drove really slow, but we didn’t have a penny to spare after meals and school fees so its what I had to live with.

I made it to school with the car in one piece, surprised that it had survived the past years. After school I decided to text my dad for the name of the guy I had to kill. At dinner I decided not to tell my mum about what dad had asked and suddenly felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I excused myself from the table and went up to my room to read what my dad had sent me and immediately recognized the name: Danny Robinson. I knew my dad and Danny had some problems which was probably one of the reasons my mum and dad separated because Danny was a dangerous man. I called my dad and told him i was up for the mission and he told me to meet him at the bus stop around the corner from my home tomorrow morning. I woke up and got dressed, ready to go to the bus stop. I said goodbye to my mum as she thought I was going to school and I quickly turned the corner and saw my dad. My dad was standing there in a matte black coat with a boy who looked around 18 with some cheap looking clothes. My dad introduced me to the boy, his name was Mason and he was 18 years old from South Manchester. He was going to be my partner. Just thinking about me and Mason going to kill Danny made me feel sick to my stomach.
After weeks of training with the SAS Mason and I felt ready for Danny Robinson. I met up with my father so I could get some weapons. I waited at this coffee shop where we were supposed to meet, I saw him and he waved at me bringing me over. “Hello Zack, lets take a stroll so I can hand over the bag of weapons to you” my father whispered to me. He handed the bag over to me and left as soon as I looked away from the bag and back at him. I called Mason as soon as i woke up and told him to meet me at Waterloo station in 30 minutes so we could get our train to Manchester. I met him and we went straight on the train as we were a bit late. We didn’t talk at all on the way there, we were both trembling from fear. Once we made it to the hotel we were both tired and hungry so we got room service. The man arrived with a tray of food and put it down. Suddenly I felt a sharp quick pain in my back and shrieked, realizing I’d been stabbed by the hotel worker! Mason pulled out his knife and stabbed the man, saving me. I cleaned my wound and we talk about how this was a test sent from Danny.

I get a message from my father saying “Congrats on passing the test, you are ready for the big test, be prepared.” We booked a place to a dance Danny was holding that day so Mason and I got dressed in our formal clothes, ready to make a plan of how to get into this house in a couple of days. The plan is to make a map and find routes around the mansion to plan a mission to kill Danny. Mason and I left the hotel into the cold Manchester air, chills running down our spine.
We flag a taxi down and head to Danny’s mansion where the dance is being hosted at. We get welcomed by one of Danny’s butlers and head in. We split up and went around looking for routes and ways to get in and then we left. We got a car from one of my dad’s friends in Manchester and drove back to the mansion. We climbed the building to get in from the top floor window to go into the main hallway. Mason and I make it to the top and open the window to walk down the hall to Danny’s room. Suddenly armed security come in from all angles and Danny appears from behind me and grabs me holding his gun to my head. Me and Mason share a look and I grab the knife from my pocket and stab Danny, jumping out of the security’s reach and I run.

I hide behind a corner, I look out and see the security run past me and I sprint as fast as I can to the direction they came from and see Mason waiting at where we came in from. He climbs out the window first and lowers himself down with the rope hanging from the window sill. I go down next slowly but surely knowing they can not catch me now and knowing that I earned the money to pay our bills and make my mum less stressed. Once we made it down we ran and ran so far until we were out of breath and had to stop! My heart was pounding and I was breathing heavily and so was Mason. We go back home on the next train back to London. We make it back to Waterloo and I see my father waiting there with his car to take us back home and give us the money Mason and I deserve.
“Hi Zack and hello Mason! Good to see you. Why don’t I help you with your bags as you hop in the car.” Mason and I talk about what will happen when we get back to my place. I decide he can stay with us until he finds a full time home and he’s glad to get off the streets and into a home. We make it home. I say goodbye to my father and take the money. Mason and I get welcomed home by my mother and I tell her about Mason staying with us for a while and she’s pleased to have more company around the house. I think back to the mission and how mum can never find out dad set me up for this, but for now I’ll just enjoy it while I can.
