Winters are freezing ,and they have snowy summers

Best Climate and they make the most money and they are the best colony

By 1706, the Southern Colony had more than 80,000 slaves

Farming, fishing, lumbering, shipping, and trading

Lord Baltimore wanted to make money, and provide a safe place for Catholics like himself.

The British Goverment wanted to keep Spanish troops from moving North of Florida , and the second reason is that some wealthy British men wanted to help poor people avoid going to debtors' prison.
