The Basic Learning Rights (BRL) in the area of English are a fundamental tool to ensure the quality and equity of education for all children and young people in the country, facilitating their understanding by the educational community in general.

These rights describe knowledge and skills that students should learn and develop in the area of English in the transition and primary levels of the Colombian educational system. 












1. They are referents for classroom planning due to the fact that several DBAs of the same grade are involved. 

2. Although they are numbered, they are not organized in a particular order. 
Their importance lies in the fact that they provide fundamental elements for the construction of learning in each school year so that, as a result of this process, students achieve the goals set forth in the Basic Competency Standards.
