Truth
Like a cruel master, I say you’re wrong
They are angry and hurt just like youth
I am confused as a child, don’t they see?
they are wrong and I show the truth

Can not they tell I am like a medic,
Here to help them through the sludge?
But my mentor explains no,
They feel like you judge

I bewail at my past doings,
Feeling as foolish as a juvenile.

Lack of Equality
Everyone should be equal
We are all so much alike
Colours matter in forms of art
Not in matters of who’s to die
But looking at what has passed
You could be mistaken
That if you are different
You must be reshaped

My Beautiful Drive
My colourful Drive
Beautiful diversity
My whole world since birth

Now I must leave it
I will lose my home and friend
A new world awaits

Quiet suburban streets
Only trees, birds breathe the air
This could be me too

How Different the World Looks
She had fared better,
Days and nights of sniping and snapping,
Overcrowded and unbearable living—
But the rains finally abate.

With a curious tilt of head,
A gentle change;
Sunny skies and fresher air,
She spots a small island.

The discovery of land,
Her family’s jubilation, laughing and crying,
A new sense of hope and peace;
How different the world looks.
My words came from the book The World of Angles, by Gossamer Penwyche. The original text was a short retelling of the story Noah’s Ark from the doves perspective. I chose this text became I felt the symbolism of leaving anxiety and searching for the hope and peace that is yet to come.
A Trip
My fists feel like fighting
And my mouth needs to scream
I know I cannot stay here,
with civilization smothering me
I run, run, run. My lungs work and work
I feel my soaking sweat running
I peek at places as I run by
Freeing forests, shivering slopes, sunny seas
I feel my ribs relax and sigh
Freedom, peace, calm and beauty
I can return to cynical civilization now
