I like the drawing area, construction area and lego area. Forest School is really fun, there is a spider web to climb on! I like playing with my friends in the playground. My teachers are really kind.

Our wraparound care provision includes both a breakfast club and after school club (Playzone). Breakfast club runs from 7.45am - 8.45am every day. Children are provided with a healthy breakfast, including a selection of cereals, toast, water and milk. Playzone runs from 15.15 - 17.15 each evening, we have a wide selection of toys and games, as well as organised activities to keep the children entertained!

Welcome to the Aspire Academy Trust.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum which sets out the standards for learning in the Early Years. Within the EYFs our children explore and experience areas of the curriculum through independent play and adult led activities both indoors and in the outside area and Forest School. Our curriculum is flexible, experience rich and based on the needs and interests of our young learners.

Trauma Informed Schools UK is a registered community interest company working in association with the Centre for Child Mental Health. It provides training to ensure that every adult in a school or community has the skills and understanding to respond appropriately to the relational and emotional needs children may display. TiS supports schools to create a mentally healthy environment and culture in which all within the school community, adults and children alike, can flourish and achieve. It advocates a whole school response and evidenced based relational approaches to provide an enriched environment to buffer the impact of stress that may result from adversity and painful life events. In addition, specially trained Trauma and Mental Health Informed Practitioners offer targeted intervention to children who may be experiencing challenges within their life that without support may act as a barrier to their ability to fully engage with life and learning.

Tapestry is an easy-to-use and secure online learning journal that helps staff and families across Aspire academies celebrate their children’s learning and development both at school and home.   Tapestry facilitates this by enabling a personal journal that builds over time. Photographs, videos and notes of special moments will be made available regularly to you via your iPhone or Android App.   More details on how to activate your Tapestry account will be shared once your child starts.

Chartwells have been our new provider of school lunches since January 2023, their menu can be found on our school website by clicking <a href="https://www.penrynprimary.org/web/school_dinner/313449">here</a> Meals can be booked daily, weekly, monthly or termly on Parent Pay and cost £2.45 per child. If your child is in Year R, 1 or 2 they are entitled to Universal Free school Meals. If you think you may be entitled to Free School Meals click <a href="https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/schools-and-education/schools-and-colleges/school-meals/">HERE</a> to check your eligibility and make an application.
