Head of School Welcome

Welcome to our final newsletter of the year, I can’t quite believe we are at the end of another year at Penryn Primary Academy!

We’ve had a jam packed term, with lots of trips, visitors, camps and celebrations. All the staff have been working hard in preparation for meeting their new classes this week and I hope all the children enjoyed their first days in their new classes with their new teachers and support staff.

Although this time of year is exciting, as we look towards the next academic year, it is also tinged with some sadness as we say goodbye to our amazing Year Sixes. They have made us so proud, with their commitment, hard work and resilience throughout their time with us, but especially this year as they prepared for their SATs. I speak for all of our staff, when I wish each and everyone one of them the very best next year, wherever the next step in their education is. You will always be welcome back here at Penryn Primary Academy.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your continued support. It is by working in partnership with you, that we are able to support all of our pupils to fulfil their potential.

Finally, I would like to wish you all an enjoyable, restful summer holidays. We are looking forward to welcoming you back on Wednesday 6th September.

Hub Councillor

Are you passionate about improving the outcomes for pupils? We have a Hub Councillor vacancy at Penryn Primary Academy. You will work with the Head of School and other Hub Councillors in the Aspire Academy Trust to monitor progress and assess the impact of academy improvement. If you are interested in school governance, and believe you have the skills and time available, then please contact the school office for more details.

We love to celebrate our exciting learning taking place in school on our social media feeds. Please can we remind our families that, in line with our social media policy, we never put a child's name alongside their picture. Please can we ask you to support us with this and do not put children's names in the comments section. Thank you for your support with this.

School Uniform

You will have all received a letter following the school uniform survey completed in the spring term. Our uniform page on the school website will be updated during the summer holiday. We are excited to be planning more 'pre-loved' uniform events during the next academic year - these will be advertised on social media as well as though school emails/texts!

As the summer holidays approach, I'm sure a lot of us will be heading to the beach. Please take some time to read the advice from the RNLI on how to stay safe near the water.

School Council Update

The school council this year have had some wonderful ideas for improving playtimes. Their hard work with the cake sale has meant that we raised the money needed to fund their ideas. We now have have two imagination stations ready to be shared at playtimes in the autumn term. The Year 5 and 6 school councillors have been busy gathering ideas from their classes and we shared these in our final meeting this week. A box of games to be used at playtimes will be ready for use in the autumn term. Thank you to the school council of 2022-2023!

Friends of Penryn Primary

We are so lucky to have such an active Friends of Penryn Primary group! This year they have organised so many fun events including; discos, raffles, cake sales and the best event of the year... The Colour Run! I think you will all join me in thanking them for being so fabulous!
