&nbsp;Yuva Innovators Competition Invitation

Yuva Innovators&nbsp;Challenge 2021 is a national competition for students who believe their ideas can solve real world problems and create global impact. It is a program to identify and nurture young innovators from rural and urban India. Students identify real world problems and create innovative solutions to address them. Shortlisted teams are given guidance by mentors and industry experts and even have the opportunity to get seed funding to actually implement their solution. Student Centered Learning - Curriculam Development Committee

The members of Curriculum Development Committee showed a short video on the benefits of Students Centered Learning.&nbsp;They emphasized on the shift of teacher lead lessons to student centered learning as the days of rote learning and spoon feeding are gone. It means that students are now encouraged to learn on their own with the capability to explore so that they&nbsp;can develop the right skills. &nbsp;Therefore the role of teacher has completely changed from an instructor to a facilitator .As a facilitator the teacher will guide you , support you ,clear your doubts , strengthen your concepts and encourage you to write the answers by yourself .Self direction is in to make life long and self reliant capable learners of the 21st century.&nbsp;

The event was led by Ms. Priyanka Bagaria, International Faculty of Art of Living Nigeria. The speaker shared tips&nbsp;on emotion management of children amidst Covid-19, skills to achieve focused and calm mind and breathing techniques and meditation for relaxation.

A two day training session for the teachers was organized by the SEN department of the school in collaboration with the Know The Child- Know Your Child Educational Consults and Academy. The program aimed at sensitizing the teachers towards the instructional requirements of students with special needs. It also gave the teachers an insight into the means to create inclusive classrooms so that no child is left behind.

Traditions represent an important part of our culture. They remind us that we are part of a history that defines our past, shape who we are today and who we are likely to become. Under the able guidance of different Principals, ILS has always strived to foster the Indian Culture and values among the students. During the Wednesday Special Assembly the students showcased various activities and festivities that were celebrated at school over the years. Celebrating Holi, Dussehra, Diwali, Christmas contribute to a sense of comfort and belonging, thereby instilling a very sound value system in the students of ILS. Independence and Republic day reinforce values such as freedom, faith, integrity and a sense of duty towards our motherland. Gandhi Jayanthi makes us bow our head in respect to the ‘Father of the Nation.’ Hindi Diwas, Marta bhasha and the Paryatn Diwas along with the Constitution Day provide an excellent context for meaningful pause and reflection. They provide a reason to showcase and celebrate the sacrifices made by each and every one to build a better tomorrow.

Culinary art encourages learners' thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. It also allows children the opportunity to use the knowledge they have and apply it by counting, measuring, following a sequence, following directions, and cause and effect. Culinary arts as a project -based learning activity is an excellent way to enhance student's knowledge and engagement.&nbsp; Students spoke on how culinary art blends well with other disciplines and makes learning more enjoyable. An Oreo ice-cream recipe was also presented.

Grade XII 2020-21, the outgoing batch of I.L.S paid a visit to the school before moving on to their next adventures. They are the ones who missed out on the traditional experiences of school graduation due to the pandemic. Nevertheless, for us they are the ones who battled the adversity with resilience, creativity and positivity. The students came to school all decked up in their uniforms and with a heavy heart. The day was filled with nostalgia, as students fondly recounted on their school life. The Principal, Mrs. Sonali Gupta interacted with the students and congratulated them on their accomplishments. Special Scheme of Assessment for Classes X and XII

In view of confronting the challenges on account of the pandemic, CBSE has released a special Assessment Scheme for Classes X and XII for the Academic session 2021-22. In order to update the parents regarding the changes in Assessment, a session with the Principal was held for both parents and students of GR X &amp; XII. The Principal delivered a detailed presentation based on Circular No. 51 published by CBSE.&nbsp;All apprehensions were laid to rest.

With the aim of helping our students overcome their dilemma regarding career choices, a career counselling webinar was organized on New Age Career options and study abroad. The keynote speaker of the session was Mr. Jitin Chawla, one of India’s leading career counselors. He touched upon various courses, scholarship schemes and requisites for applying in foreign universities. It was indeed an eye-opening session and the students were highly appreciative of Mr. Chawla's invaluable advice on future prospects.&nbsp;

I.L.S is gearing back to welcome students in its campus. Offline classes were delivered for Grades III to XII. All the standard safety measures were strictly adhered to in the school premises. The temperature checks and symptom screening of the students, teachers and non-teaching staff was done prior to entering the campus.&nbsp;The students were happy to be physically present at school. Notebook, in partnership with Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta is presenting Ignite – a series of inter-school business plan and innovation competitions culminating in a Grand Finale. 64 schools across the country and from abroad are participating in the preliminary round. Top 24 teams from the 16 qualifiers will move to the semifinals and 12 of them would participate in the grand Finale.
