Hindi Diwas was observed at I.L.S to pay tribute to the official language of India. To mark the day, various activities were organized virtually for the students of classes III to V.

A workshop for Principal's was conducted on 19th Jan and 20th Jan, 2022 by Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. Our Principal Mrs. S. Gupta had the opportunity to be a part of this online Principals workshop on “Developing a School Development Plan to create a culture of innovation in schools”. The workshop was attended by more than 100 Principals of foreign CBSE schools.&nbsp; Mrs. Gupta was given the opportunity to head a group of ten principals from UAE, Oman and Africa. She presented the plan based on the topic Initiating Innovation in Schools with a focus on Teaching, Learning and Assessments strategies to implement Competency based Education and Skill Development amongst students. She emphasized on the need for adapting innovation in transaction of the curriculum. She was highly commended by the team of experts from CBSE. The plan has also been selected to be used as one of the standard /example. The skeleton plan was the Action Plan of Innovation in Teaching, Learning and Enrichment at Indian Language School.

I.L.S celebrated Nation's 73rd Republic Day with great patriotic fervor and exuberance. The program commenced with the school Principal, Mrs. Sonali Gupta hoisting the nation's Tri-colour followed by the National Anthem. Soulful songs by our students filled the audience with pride and unfolded the true essence of India as one nation. The colourful dance performance invoked the incredible spirit of India. A skit showcasing India's milestone achievements in 2021 swelled everyone with pride. Many students came dressed up as the iconic heroes of the freedom movement, which was a mark of sincere tribute to our freedom fighters. The day was also honoured by the presence of the members of the Parent Committee, who made a special effort to share Laddoos with the students on this special day. The Principal, Mrs. Sonali Gupta in her address reminded the students of their duties to the nation as responsible citizens and appreciated the efforts made by them to observe the monumental day.

Parent-Teacher Meetings for all grades were held from 24th to 28th January. The teachers addressed all the queries of the parents promptly and satisfactorily. The PTM put all the apprehensions to rest, which were on account of the upcoming annual examination.

With an aim to ensure that every student has the opportunity and confidence to return to the classroom, the first dose of the vaccine for students of Grades X to XII was administered in the school. The success of the vaccination drive gives us a sense of gratification and hope that we would soon get back to normalcy and start physical classes in due course.

The Novice’s Summit – 3rd Edition – Virtual Conference

Model UN conferences are opportunities to practice research, public speaking, teamwork, negotiation, and writing skills in a structured environment. Novice’s Summit is a student led initiative in collaboration with the United Nations Information Centre of India and Bhutan and supported by the Youth of India Foundation. Thirty one students of I.L.S from Grades IX to XII participated in the Third Edition of Novice’s Summit. Around 500 were part of this conference representing different countries across the world, in different committees and debating on different global issues. Mamta Modern Senior Secondary School, Delhi collaborated with ILS to organize a workshop on Colours of Nature (the flora and fauna). The students of Indian Language School showcased their research work on the Flora and Fauna of Nigeria. They shared a Presentation displaying general information on the three predominant vegetation and fauna found in Nigeria highlighting their diet, habitat and threats and the measures taken to counter the threats. A general quiz was also conducted by both the teams.

As the new year unfolded I.L.S lost two of its strong pillars amongst the non-teaching staff Mr Stephen and Mrs Expensive who were associated with the school for a long time. May their gentle souls rest in peace. We at I.L.S are heartbroken and will always miss them.

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." Pets are a part of our lives and household. Not only do they provide us with companionship but also reduce our stress levels, sense of loneliness and add to a child's self-esteem and positive emotional development. Bearing this in mind the school conducted a Virtual Pet Show, in which the students showcased their pets on screen and shared information about their food habits and care that has to be taken at home.

Fill the brain with high thoughts, highest ideals, place them day and night before you, and out of that will come great work.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;- Swami Vivekananda.&nbsp; Swami Vivekananda, a spiritual genius of commanding intellect and power, serves as an inspiration for millions of youth in India and across the world. ILS observed Swami Vivekananda Jayanti with the prime aim to sensitize the young minds on his teachings. ‘National Youth Day' was celebrated at I.L.S commemorating Swami's birth anniversary, a talk show was conducted for the students of Grades XI and XII. The students voiced their thoughts and ideas about Swami Vivekanda’s striking accomplishments and valuable contributions. Our Principal, Mrs. Sonali Gupta addressed the learners by enlightening them on his insightful thoughts.

Makar Sankranti is traditionally believed to mark the arrival of spring in India. I.L.S celebrated Makarsankranti with immense pomp and fervor. It was a splendid morning for the students of I.L.S as they could fly vibrant kites in the sky. One could observe a beautiful combination of team-spirit and joy in learning the mechanism of kite-flying. Our Principal in her message conveyed the festival greetings and motivated children to keep flying high.

Mathematic Day

This year regardless of the limitations of the pandemic, a Virtual Fancy Dress Competition was conducted for our tiny tots of LKG to Grade II. Our kids enthusiastically participated in the event, decked up in vibrant costumes and gleefully narrating the significance of their character. They amused us with their creativity, memory and boundless imagination.

Aditi Sindkar of Grade XIIA Has been able to secure a 75% scholarship worth $ 182,000 in Knox College through the Next Genius Foundation.&nbsp;We at ILS would like to congratulate her as well as the Career Counselor Mrs Seema Tandon who guided her along the way.

73rd Republic Day Dance by ILS Students

I.L.S celebrated National Mathematics Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of the great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, with an objective of creating awareness about the importance of Mathematics in day-to-day life.&nbsp;Mathematics forever is an intrinsic part of life. Through an array of dance, skit, role-play the students celebrated the day with gusto.&nbsp;

Dear Parents, “The start of something new brings the hope of something great.” The month of January leaves us optimistic, filled with a sense of enthusiasm. Despite the challenging circumstances, we are confident that we are able to provide every opportunity to our students to compete and thrive.&nbsp; While we navigate through this pandemic, we honour all of you for your unwavering support and understanding.
