Life on Land Endangered

Life on Land is becoming endangered or extinct, why is this happening? This article will examine Life on Land. More than a quarter of species assessed by the IUCN red list are threatened with extinction, but the world has lost 100 million hectares of forest in two decades. Almost all countries have adopted legislation for preventing or controlling invasive alien species. Progress to safeguard Key Biodiversity areas has stalled over the last 5 years. Governments need to continue reinforcing laws so we can protect life on land. Humans need to be aware that their actions have negative consequences on the land.

An analysis of life on land suggests that people start eating less meat or try to be vegetarian because more than 37,400 species are threatened with extinction. My opinion about the extinction of animals, is that I am surprised that a quantity of animals are going endangered or extinct, just because we want to eat meat or more space. It is recognized that more than 37,400 species are threatened to be extinct and people say that to solve this problem, we would need to start being vegetarian or maybe vegan stated by TheGuardian.

Why is the Ecosystem Important?

I believe that as humans we need to protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss. Biodiversity is important to us because it allows ecosystems to work and flourish. Millions of years different species of plants and animals are coming to live in the same habitat, and over time the species have balanced with each other to make and hold the ecosystem together. When a species is removed the ecosystem together can lose its balance and can break down a lot of species' diets and lose control. An Example, is that sea otters in kelp forests along the California coast. Sea otters feed on sea urchins and sea urchins feed on kelp. If sea otters are removed sea urchins multiply, eating large portions of the kelp forest, destroying the habitat and eventually leading to the death of other animals that live there. The whole ecosystem falls apart.

Why should we stop animal of going extinct

How can we stop deforestation?

As stated earlier, the purpose of this paper is to show that Life on Land is slowly but surely going extinct because we want more land/space, meat or clothes. Like in Australia, 7.7 million hectares of species habitats have been cleared or destroyed. Just 50% of Australia’s forests and bushlands remain intact compared with pre-European arrival. The other 50% has been either permanently destroyed and replaced with another land use or is classed as degraded forests and bush lands, most of which was previously cleared but now regrowing vegetation of different ages.
