So after all that Sofia went through the moral of her story was about life in the 70's, growing up in a Samoan and Palagi family in Porirua where everything was fresh, cool and upbeat from listening to the Beatles, Jail House Rock, eating fish n chips, hangi and polynesian food, wearing go go boots, bell bottom jeans and knowing that the Panthers were formed to help the polynesians during that era. Sofia's family lived in Porirua near Cannons Creek and travelled to Auckland when her grandparents visited from Porirua. They stopped off in Otaki to buy fresh bread on the drive up to Auckland.

One year a girl named Sofia decided to record her diary about life in the seventies. Her family, her friends and what school she attended. The highlight of winning a speech competition and then learning all about the Dawn Raids which was a sad part of history in Aotearoa affecting the Polynesians who were forced out of their homes by the government and the police in the 70's.
