Enniskillen is indeed the largest town in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It is situated in the central part of the county, positioned between the Upper and Lower sections of Lough Erne, which is a prominent lake in the region. According to the 2011 Census, Enniskillen had a population of 13,823. Enniskillen Castle, which was constructed in the 15th century, served as a stronghold for the Maguire family initially and later came under English control in the early 17th century. Over time, the castle and the town itself underwent expansions during the Plantation of Ulster, a significant period of colonization and settlement in Ireland. Enniskillen also served as the administrative center for the former Fermanagh District Council, and it holds the status of being the county town of Fermanagh.
Our experience and work placements
We came to this exchange programme with a mind set of something good and that we will met new people and get to know a new culture. And we certainly did.
It started with everyone getting to know the town, the place where we're staying and in a few days we got to know our work placements.
