An important skill is attention to detail meaning the ability to go over your work to check if everything’s correct. Also you need interpersonal skills, they are basically people skills, skills to interact with people. Stamina is mental effort you will need this for the job. You will need some weighting skills, to communicate clearly through wrighting and have clear and understandable wrighting. Another good skill you will need is time management to be very good with time, to not get everything done at once or leave everything to the last minute.

Some of the disadvantages of being a diagnostic medical sonographer is that you are always on your feet and that could be very tiring day in day out. Another bad thing is when you are trying to take an X-ray of the baby it could take up to 20 mins to get the perfect angles. Being a sonographer can be stressful at times making sure you’re keeping an eye out on the equipment making sure your safe and your patience your assisting. Sonographers work long hours which is a pain staying late and your sleep routine will often be messed up. Working with disabled patients can be difficult because you will have to roll them over yourself and help them get up.
