We took a deep breath, thought we were in a dream, but we were all wet and inside the boat! "WOW!!!! It was true, it happened!" said Carla.&nbsp; What an adventure!!! Let's get on our way and meet our Spanish friends.&nbsp;

With the first ray of sunlight, Marta woke up, it was 5am. "Wake up Rafaela, wake up Ana, we have to put the boat in for Turkey. Let's call the boys." Once they were all together, André offered to be the captain and suggested they stay with him in the cabin. However, Marta decided to go for a walk around the bow and stern with the twins Ana and David, Rafaela and Lourenço, to get some air and see if everything was in order. David and Lourenço went straight to the engine. They sat down in front of the machine and stared at it. "What does the inside of the time machine look like?" asked David. "Let's see. They both went next to the machine, lifted the cloth and peered through the door window. "Do you know that you don't need a key to open the door? All I have to do is say hard 'OPEN YOURSELF' and the door opens."&nbsp;

This ship "smelt" of adventure! Its hull was covered with strange symbols which, with a lot of imagination, resembled treasure chests... pirate skulls... that's what it was.

With the sun already setting over the sea, they decided to return to the beach. They went down the Ascensor da Nazaré, walked to the seafront and lay down on the warm sands waiting for the sun to disappear completely. "Now let's go to the boat and we'll hand over command of the ship to the Afons'Twinni," said the Spanish. "We will rest, but early in the morning, as soon as the sun rises, the Afons'Twinni, take over the helm heading for Turkey. It is agreed to arrive there at 3 p.m. sharp, and the ship is never late! Never!". The sun disappeared and the group rose from the still-warm sand, tired from the day well spent. They slowly made their way to the boat, ate the rest of their snack. They brushed their teeth and each went to their own bunk.&nbsp;

"Now that our bellies are full", said Marta, "I'll tell you the programme we've prepared for you today: first, we're going to walk along the main avenue, to see the sun-dried fish nets, then we're going up the Ascensor of Sítio da Nazaré to admire the Miradouro do Suberco which has one of the most beautiful views of the Portuguese coast. We will visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Nazaré which is beautiful. We go down to the lighthouse where you can see the famous Nazaré's Cannon which is one of the biggest underwater cannons in Europe. It is a giant hole in the bottom of the sea where giant waves are surfed by the biggest surfers in the world. If we're lucky, we can still see the Nazaré's Women, dressed in their seven skirts. They are unique in her style".

In an extraordinary journey to the past, with the help of a fantastic time machine built with recycled materials and connected by an old magical key, a group of adventurous friends, the "TwinFriends", decided to explore countries, oceans and seas... Sailors, treasures and sea monsters... this is how a fantastic adventure begins whose story and illustration we will get to know...

To reach the Atlantic Ocean they decided they would take the Guadiana River in a very traditional boat belonging to Matilde and Lena's grandmother, to Vila Real de Santo António.&nbsp;

Suddenly the sky became dark, the wind blew strong and the ship began to rock...so much so that we all fell into the sea, Catarina was stung by a jellyfish, and in distress we started to shout very loudly, but really loud...and...out of nowhere a very strange creature appeared, it had the head of a Barcelos cockerel and the feet of a pig from Alentejo, it was the TugaMonster who had woken up from his deep sleep with our shouting. We shouted even more but the TugaMonster, to our great surprise, picked us up and put us back inside the ship.&nbsp;

They started waving, called, jumped, but nothing. Suddenly, the chimes of 3 pm are heard on the church bell. And then an explosion of rockets and fireworks coming from the ship. Confetti falls from the highest mast when the boat is docking. What a thunderous arrival. The Twinfriends got off the ship. The introductions were made immediately, the first words were said and gifts were exchanged. The Afons'Twinni were invited to visit the boat. There was a shared snack on the prow, stories and adventures were told, but the striking moment was when we were shown the time machine.

Antony ran to see the year indicated on the timeline. "We don't go backwards, it's marking 3022, we've moved forward a thousand years." We asked if we could use it to meet our D. Afonso Henriques, the great conqueror and patron of our school. We wanted to tell him how important he was to Portugal and give him some tips to conquer more land, faster and with less casualties. But António visualized the timeline and told us not to do that, as doing so would break the timeline and important events would stop happening!

They were all looking at each other, thinking about what they had just heard, imagining the power that the time machine gave them and, at the same time, feeling apprehension and fear.

I bought it up there, in front of the fish drying nets”.

"It's going to be a great afternoon" said the TugaTwinfriends. "Exciting" said the Spanish. They set off and went according to plan. They questioned, they experimented, and they were amazed and made memories. They took selfies and souvenir photos. At the viewpoint all that could be heard was: "The world is beautiful"; "What a wonderful landscape". When they arrived at the lighthouse, they stayed there feeling the sea air on their faces, looking at the falling waves and listening to the roar of their sound. You could hear: "The sea is awe-inspiring", "The ocean is powerful".&nbsp;

Our next adventure had begun, we now had to direct the ship to our beloved town, Puente Genil. To do this, we enter the peninsula through the Guadalquivir River, the only navigable river in Spain. We go upstream from its mouth in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz) to Palma del Rio (Córdoba), a city where the two most important rivers in Andalusia, the Guadalquivir and its most important tributary, the Genil, converge.

After a long discussion, we agreed that the place we wanted to travel to was where our Portuguese friends, the TugaTwinfriends, were. After closing all eyes and thinking about our Portuguese friends, voilà! We were on a ship on the Strait of Gibraltar! The meeting was incredible, full of emotions, hugs, laughter... After greeting us, our Portuguese friends told us about the wonderful adventures they had experienced sailing down the Guadiana River and crossing the Strait of Gibraltar and we told them how we had found them thanks to the magical tunnel.

It was scorching hot day. The sand smelled like burnt stone. The horse mackerel, sardines and dried octopus were frying, stretched out in the nets, the sea wasn’t moving because it was so strangely calm. While they were waiting, the Afons’Twinni (twins Ana and David, Rafaela, Lourenço, Marta, André and António) decided to go to the terrace for an ice cream. They knew that the Portuguese and Spanish Twinfriends were arriving, as a strange carrier pigeon came to deliver them a telegram that said: “Arrival at 15:00”. “How is it possible for them to know that they arrive at 3:00 pm?” asked Rafaela. “There can be unforeseen events and delay everything!”. “A captain who is a captain knows exactly what time he arrives and does not fail”, André replied with conviction. “I am desperate to meet our virtual friends from Vidigueira and Spain”, said Marta.

The TugaTwinfriends were immediately concerned: “We went to the discoveries’ time” they said, “but we came and went, we didn't change the timeline”. “Great!”, said António, “otherwise we might not be here anymore”. “Let's cover it up and keep it in a corner”, said TugaTwinfriends. "What do you think?" “I can keep the machine,” said Santiago, the Karate master. "I already saved it once." “There's no need, we lock the time machine, fix the machine to the stern, cover it with a huge cloth and put the key in the captain's cabin. It's fine like this?" Everyone nodded yes. “The machine has a power of its own”, Santiago whispered to David. “With us, all it had to do was look at it and say ‘Open Sesame’ and the door opened right away.” “Well, now we’re going to have a shared snack”, announced the Spanish, “because the Afons’Twinni offered us some delights from Nazaré to taste and we had the opportunity to listen to the program they reserved for us for the rest of the afternoon here in Portugal”.

The machine door closed, a red light came on. "Is everyone alright?" asked Marta. "Yes" they said. The machine started spinning. "Everyone hold on to the net that's on the wall so you don't fall" Marta shouted. After a short while the machine stopped. The door opened and a huge ray of sunlight came in. A ladder came down and André took advantage of it and said "Let's get out of here". They all went after him. When they got to the top the sun was shining brighter than usual. "This sun doesn't let us see anything,” said Ana. After a few minutes of getting used to the light, they look around and couldn't believe it. “What happened here? Asked Rafaela. “Where is the see?” said David. “There aren’t any fish!” exclaimed Lourenço.” The land is so dry and there isn’t any vegetation!” said André. "What happened?" said Marta. "It was the time machine! We must be in the time before prehistory," said Antonio. "Before I fell, I grabbed hold of the time lever and I must have altered the timeline. I'm going to see what year it's ticking."&nbsp;

“I also brought my binoculars to be aware of everything and I can't even see the edge of the ship”, said António. “I’m already tired of looking around!” Marta looked at him, subtly took off his binoculars and kept watching, paying extra attention. Everyone was staring at the horizon. There was a noisy silence. “Look… I see something”, murmurs Marta. “Something's coming up… That's right!!” she screams. “It's one flag… No, there are two! It's the Portuguese’s flag and right next to it is the Spanish’s flag!”. "Hurray, it's them, it's them!" They all exclaimed in chorus, excited. "We'll wait for them at the landing port." They ran to the port and, when they got there, out of breath, André looks at his watch and observes: “You already know it is not yet, but is it almost?” “3 pm!” they all replied breathlessly.

It was then that everyone scattered around the boat and went in search of the key. Everyone, not everyone... because Santiago, the Karate master, was guarding the fantastic machine.&nbsp; Some went to the masts, others to the helm and others to the hold. And it was there, in a dark and damp corner, inside an old barrel, that they found the key...it was so unusual that it had magic.&nbsp; When they tried it on the machine they all said in chorus "Open Sesame", the door opened and everyone, although very nervous, went inside and the door automatically closed.

A group of Spaniards, the SpaniardTwinfriends, were at the top of the Anzur Castle, near Puente Genil, looking out over the horizon and anxiously awaiting the arrival of our Portuguese friends, the TugaTwinfriends. The wait became very long and boring, so they began to explore the extensive field of olive trees that surrounds the area next to the Genil River.

Along the river bank, Elena and Sara discovered, to everyone's astonishment, a small door that led into the depths of the ground. Curiosity soon led them to take a look, but, in an act of good sense, they decided to call the rest of the group.

Soon the rest of the Spanish explorers arrived at the place. First, they tried to force the door, but all attempts were in vain. Marta, always observant, discovered a scroll with instructions detailing how to open the door. It was a riddle! Buji read it out loud so everyone could hear it:

"If you want to open this door, you must enter the year of the foundation of this town (Puente Genil)."

Everyone immediately looked at Antonio, their History teacher who, between laughs, replied: "We have seen that in class! Don't you remember?". After waiting a few seconds, finally he said, "1834!" Buji impatiently opened the door and together they entered through it. It was a magical tunnel that could take us to the place we wanted at that moment!

It was a great few days, but we and our Portuguese friends had to continue our journey. A trip that had as its final goal the distant Turkey. But first, we had to get to Nazaré, a city where we had heard that the raging sea created gigantic waves. Rocío had a brilliant idea: "what if we use the magical tunnel of Castillo de Anzur to travel to Nazaré?" We all thought it was a great idea, so, Spanish and Portuguese (the TugaTwinfriends and the SpaniardTwinfriends), we entered the tunnel with the ship, closed our eyes, and wished with all our might to travel to Nazaré.

Let's go exploring - said Ines with a smile on her lips and her heart racing! When everyone gets on the ship they find the fantastic Time Machine the "TwintimeMachine"!!! What a show!&nbsp; When they tried to enter the machine they discovered that it was locked and had a very unique shaped lock. "Ohhh we need the key - I wonder where it is? Let's go find it" - said Maria very determined!

Meanwhile Marta had gone away to look at the land, which was so dry that it had cracked. "What's wrong Marta?" asked Annie. "We are the only ones who see the future and so we have more responsibility and more reason than anyone to do something about it! "We have to go back, talk about this to the whole world, warn them all that if we don't change our habits, this is what will happen."

&nbsp;"We just can't say we were here in the future, because they'll call us crazy! " said Andre.&nbsp;"It's our secret" Marta replied. "I’m still saying the time machine is a danger" reinforced Antonio. "Yes, I agree, so we have to go back to our year 2022 and throw the machine to the bottom of the ocean, right there in the deepest sea. Do you agree?" "Yes, we agree," they all replied. "And we say it fell in by accident" added David.

Everyone got into the time machine. Antonio set the lever to the year 2022, they all clung to the net, after a second the machine stopped, they climbed the ladder, felt the fresh air and went to check if there was sea. What a relief! They throw the time machine to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean and stared at it until it disappeared completely.

Suddenly the door opened and the two fell to the bottom of the machine. They start screaming for help and the girls who were in the stern came running. They looked through the door and started to be sucked inside. They wanted to get away from the door, but they couldn't. Ana had already fallen. Marta held Rafaela and screamed, calling for António and André. André heard and realized that something was going wrong. "I'll turn on the autopilot and we'll see what's going on down there". They rushed to the stern. When they got there they saw Marta hanging onto the machine and asked what was going on. "They all fell, I couldn't hold them and I'm almost fe...ll". Andre grabbed Marta by the feet and soon afterwards Antonio grabbed Andre. "I can't hold them all," said Antonio. "The machine is pulling us in! AAAAAAAhh." They were all being sucked in. Antonio clung to the time lever as a last hope, but it moved and they all fell in.&nbsp;

We did it! All of us, the ship, the precious time machine… Everything had arrived. "Where we are?" – Asked Matilde, our Portuguese friend. “We are in the Genil River!” – We answered all the Spaniards in unison. There we anchored the ship and, with great enthusiasm, we showed our guests, the TugaTwinfriends, some of the most important places in our city, Puente Genil. We visited the bridge over the Genil River, the two great emblems of our city, we showed them our famous Holy Week and they tasted some of our most delicious gastronomic products with a wonderful menu that we had prepared: - As a starter: salmorejo. -&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;As a main dish: flamenquines. -&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;And for dessert: carne de membrillo.
