Mom, do you think Leo gets scared staying home alone?
Tommy and his mom had a busy day ahead of them. It was his first day of kindergarten and his mom had to go to work. Tommy was sad about leaving Leo behind and was worried that he would get scared without them. When it was time to leave, Leo walked with them to the front door and nudged them goodbye. "We'll be home before you know it," Tommy said giving Leo a small frown. Leo meowed back letting Tommy know that everything would be okay.
I'm Leo the lion... nothing can scare me!
Even though Leo would miss his family, he didn't mind staying home alone. He wasn't scared like the other cats he saw outside the window, the ones who climbed trees when they were afraid. Leo was a housecat, so he was safe inside and had the entire day to do whatever he wanted!
Tuna! My Favorite!
Leo always started his days out with a big bowl of cat food. He loved mealtimes, but not as much as he loved naptime! Naptime was his favorite time of the day. He could sleep all day if he wanted to. He liked to sleep curled up in a ball but could fall asleep anywhere. His favorite place to sleep was at the foot of Tommy or his mom's comfy beds. After Leo finished his breakfast, he headed toward the bedroom.
Leo was walking through the dining room when he heard the pitter-patter of little feet behind him. He turned to see what it was and saw a mouse looking up at him. He had never seen a real live mouse before, it let out a squeak and started to walk towards him. Now Leo was scared! He hissed and ran out of the room as fast as he could.
Leo could hear the footsteps getting closer, so he hid under Tommy's bed. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I am lost and can't find my way outside to my family," said the mouse. Leo suddenly remembered that his favorite toy as a kitten was his windup mouse. He knew there wasn't anything to be afraid of, so he crawled out from under the bed. He smiled at the mouse and said, "I can show you the way, follow me!"
