The sun is one of more than 200 billion stars in the Milky Way. The sun is roughly 5,600°C.

Makemake&nbsp;is a dwarf planet in the outer solar system. It was the fourth body discovered as a dwarf planet.&nbsp;Makemake&nbsp;is large enough and bright enough to be studied by a telescope.

Atmosphere: The&nbsp;atmosphere&nbsp;is the layer of gases around the Earth. It is held in place by Earth's gravity.

Carbon Dioxide: A colourless gas produced by burning carbon. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and release as fresh air.

Crater: A large bowl-shaped hole in the ground. They are mostly caused by an explosion or the impact of a meteorite.

Satellite: An object orbiting around another object.

Jupiter&nbsp;is the biggest planet in our solar system. Jupiter&nbsp;is covered in swirling cloud stripes. It has big storms like the Great Red Spot, which has been going for hundreds of years.&nbsp;Jupiter&nbsp;is a gas giant and doesn't have a solid surface.

Pluto&nbsp;is a dwarf planet and is only about 2,253 kilometres wide.&nbsp;Pluto&nbsp;is about 5.7 billion kilometres away from the Sun and has five moons. Pluto&nbsp;and its largest moon, Charon, are so similar in size that they orbit each other.

Space junk is any piece of junk&nbsp;left by humans in&nbsp;space. It can be big objects such as dead satellites, it can also refer to smaller things, like bits of&nbsp;metal&nbsp;or paint flecks that have fallen off a rocket.

Neptune is dark, cold, and very windy. It's the 8th and last planet in our solar system. It's more than 30 times as far from the Sun as Earth is. Neptune also has six rings, but they're very hard to see.

Venus is the hottest planet in the Solar system with temperatures reaching 460°C. Venus is the brightest planet. Venus is very similar to Earth in terms of size and material.

The third planet from the sun,&nbsp;Earth&nbsp;is the only place in the known universe confirmed to have life. With a radius of 6371 kilometres,&nbsp;Earth&nbsp;is the fifth largest planet in our solar system, and it's the only one known for sure to have liquid water on its surface.

Haumea is the third closest&nbsp;dwarf planet&nbsp;to the&nbsp;Sun&nbsp;and is located beyond the orbit of&nbsp;Neptune. It has about 1/3 the mass of&nbsp;Pluto&nbsp;and was discovered in 2004. Haumea is the only dwarf planet to be shaped as an oval.

Mars&nbsp;is sometimes called the Red Planet. It's red because of rusty iron in the ground. Like Earth,&nbsp;Mars&nbsp;has seasons, polar ice caps, volcanoes, canyons, and weather. It has a very thin atmosphere made of carbon dioxide.
