An experimental podcast series by class 3BINTRODUZIONE

INTRODUCTION
This is “AI Care: Teens Talk Human Rights”, an exciting journey through human rights, with a focus on LGBT rights, freedom and the fight against racism.
We are the students of class 3B from Istituto Comprensivo “A. Gabelli”, Misterbianco. We are part of a school committed to giving voice to the issues that define our society. The podcast title is based on a play on words: AI as in Artificial Intelligence, but also to remind our listeners of Don Lorenzo Milani's famous motto, 'I care'. Experimenting with AI within a Humanities CLIL project, we have created a series of interviews that will let you explore the complexities of human rights through the voices of six historical figures.
But what are human rights? They are the fundamental principles that recognize and guarantee the dignity and rights of the individuals, regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation or social background. These are the pillars on which a fair and inclusive society is based. Human rights are also fundamental to achieve sustainable development. The 2030 Agenda focuses on the principles of equality and non-discrimination, with the aim to leave no one behind.
In this podcast series, we will listen to stories of courage and resilience. We will discuss the challenges faced by the LGBT community; we will explore the struggles for acceptance and equality; we will try to better understand the importance of ensuring safe and inclusive spaces for everyone.
We won't stop here: we will also explore the concept of Freedom, a fundamental human right that should not be denied to any individual. We will address the political, social and personal challenges that still threaten individual freedoms and try to give voice to those struggling to assert their freedom in an ever-changing world.
Finally, we will address the topic of racism, a longstanding issue in human history. We will explore the roots and contemporary manifestations of racism, listen to the voices of those who have suffered discrimination and try to promote greater awareness and concrete actions to fight social injustice.
We invite you to join us on this adventure, in order to learn, grow and contribute to an empathetic and respectful world. We hope that what you are going to listen to will be a source of inspiration for a better world in which everyone truly cares about protecting human rights.

Class 3B (lower secondary school)
CLIL PROJECT STEPS
November 2023 - February 2024
Step 1
- BRAINSTORMING ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS
- ORGANISATION OF THE MAIN STRUCTURE OF THE PODCAST (TITLE, LOGO, EPISODES, JINGLES...)
Details
Focusing on the Goals of the 2030 Agenda, we talked about human rights. This raised our curiosity to learn about the ones who have fought for human rights.
Step 2
GROUPS CHOOSE ONE HUMAN RIGHTS CHAMPION FROM THE AI APP "HELLO HISTORY"
Details
We worked into 6 groups. Each group chose a character who was in the HUMAN RIGHTS category of the APP “HELLO HISTORY”. This is an app that allows you to “communicate” with historical characters via a chat.
GROUP WEB SEARCH ABOUT THE CHARACTERS TO PREPARE A LIST OF QUESTIONS FOR THE INTERVIEWS
Step 3
Details
Each group searched for information about their character in order to make a list of specific questions for a podcast interview.
