We cannot wait to meet you. We will all be here to help you when you are at school.

You will need to bring your book bag to school every day. You can keep it in your drawer. You will be given 3 reading books. A phonics book, an Oxford Reading Tree book and a 'bed time' book. You can read these books at school and at home.

In the morning, you will have a healthy snack and an option to pay for milk.

You will also need to bring a water bottle to school every day. Please make sure your name is clearly labelled on your water bottle. You will need to take your water bottle home, wash it and refill it with fresh water every day.

At lunch, we will go to the hall together. You can choose your own food. We offer a meat, halal meat and a vegetarian option. You can choose your own dessert and help yourself to the salad bar too. There will be menus available if you would like to discuss your child's options with them.

When you start Reception, you will need to wear a super smart uniform. You will need: A blue jumper A blue shirt A school tie (ideally elasticated) A grey skirt or trousers or dress Grey, blue or white socks/tights Black school shoes

You will need a P.E. kit from the Spring term onwards. You will need: a bag (which should be a draw-string bag) A St John's hoody Plain navy joggers or shorts,&nbsp; Pale blue t-shirt/polo Black trainers

Please make sure everything is named.

Remember: your day might be shorter when you first start big school. You might just stay for the morning, or just come for the afternoon at first.

What can I do at home before I start school?

Share lots of stories. Read them or make up your own. Talk to your family. What do you like to play with? What is your favourite food? Are you looking forward to starting school? Practise putting on and taking off your coat. Can you do the zip by yourself too? Practise going to the toilet all by yourself. Remember to wash your hands. Practise putting your uniform on. You could even practise writing your name. But most importantly, play! Have fun, both inside and outdoors.
