Head of School Welcome
As another school year comes to a close, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for the incredible journey we have embarked upon together. It has been another year of growth and learning, with many memories made along the way.....

Our Y6 students have once again excelled academically, demonstrating their commitment to learning, achieving some excellent accomplishments and SAT results, above national averages. We are confident that, along with their strength of character that has been nurtured during their time at Sandy Hill, our students are ready to move forward to the next chapter in their educational journey. We wish them every continued success.

Similarly, it has been wonderful to see how our EYFS pupils have grown in confidence, with a passion for reading that will undoubtedly support their future learning across the curriculum and lifelong learning. Transition sessions for all children have given a great insight to next year, with the staff team just as excited as the children!

We have enjoyed fostering innovation and creativity. Students have participated in projects, scientific experiments, and artistic endeavors that allowed them to think outside the box, explore new concepts, and develop their critical thinking skills. From Shakespeare plays and musical pantomimes to awe-inspiring science fairs and technological advancements, our students' creative talents continue to impress and inspire us all.🎭 🔬 🧪 🔭 🎨 🖼 🎼 🎸 🎶 🎦

Alongside this, our teaching staff have been further studying NPQs (National Professional Qualifications), whilst working with our students and wider school community towards great achievements and recognition such as the Go Cornish Award, NPSQM (National Primary Science Quality Mark) and OFSTED Outstanding Report.

I would like to express my deepest appreciation to all the parents and carers. Your support, involvement, and encouragement have been vital in our success and we look forward to working together again next academic year. In the meantime, please enjoy a wonderful, happy and safe summer holiday ahead - hopefully with plenty of sunshine! 🌞

Wow! What a busy Summer term we have had in Nursery full of learning and achievements.
The Nursery children have loved the sunny weather we have had this term. The weather has provided us with many opportunities to experience lots of outdoor learning! The children have also been busy planting and growing a range of plants and vegetables. We have recently discovered we have pea pods growing in our vegetable patch! We can't wait to give them a try once they grow a bit bigger.

The children did a fantastic job at learning a new song themed around our Summer term topic 'Under the Sea'. They performed this brilliantly on World Music Day to celebrate our love of music! The children also enjoyed listening to Miss Gordon play her clarinet, we were mesmerized by the beautiful sound it made when she played it.

During the last couple of weeks, the children have been practicing their letter formation to prepare them for their future learning in Reception. They have been doing a fantastic job at practicing their pencil grip and letter formation rhymes.

The children should all be very proud of their achievements this year, and it has been wonderful to observe their development across all areas of learning. We are so proud of all the children in Nursery, and we wish those who are starting Reception in September all the very best as their learning journey continues!
