The Harapan Rainforest
The Harapan Rainforest is home to one of the coolest and rarest species on earth! Like the Rafflesia arnoldii and the Sumatran tiger! This rainforest is thriving for the most part with 300+ mammal species, 600+ bird species, and about 10,000 plants species that are in this amazing rainforest!
But not that many people have touched this beautiful rainforest, in the future there is going to be lots of people touching it and causing harm because it has some recourses that we use in the world.

The plant life
The plant life is amazing and I'm going to show you one in particular, its the Rafflesia arnoldii or the corpse flower! Its known to be the biggest flower on earth! It ranges up to three feet and weighs up to 15 pounds! But you think it would smell good around it but no the reason its called the "corpse flower" because it smells like dead flesh. And unlike most of the plants, this flower does not use sun light for energy to make its own food. Instead this plant is a parasite, it gets its energy and water from a host of vines in the grape family.

The wildlife
These Sumatran tigers are a beautiful species in the wild but there are only 350 to 600 individuals in the world. They are very endangered because of poaching for their whiskers, teeth, bones, and claws that are used in traditional Chinese medicine as well as jewelry still today. There habitat loss due to palm oil plantations, illegal logging, and urban development.
The Sumatran tigers are the smallest tiger species while males weigh about 220 to 310 pounds and females weigh about 165 to 243 pounds. What they eat is mostly deer, pig, fish, crocodiles, and wild boar.

Deforestation
In the Harapan rainforest, there are many of threats which causes deforestation. An indiscreet logging and clearing for plantation and cutting timbers for expanding the land of agriculture makes lots of decrease in habitats and almost causes extinction of unique species in the area like the Sumatran elephant, and the Sumatran tiger. In addition, people's encroachment, mining, and logging are all illegal acts, and such their illegal logging is also for using some wooden materials. If this keeps on happening, there will be no more homes to the animals that are in the rainforest.
