It’s easier to get jobs in the Middle Colonies and of more variety, due to the good, fertile soil and good weather, the Middle colonies are able to increase trade on crops that the other colonies couldn’t produce. Known as “Bread Basket” for being able to grow so much food.

Some of the problems were unintentionally caused be the colonists, like smallpox and other diseases that the English settlers had unwittingly brought over onto their ships. Although, the colonists suffered form these diseases of their one early on, they were largely immune to the microbes they brought to the New World.

Who would want to live somewhere where people aren’t able to grow good crops to sell to poor, rocky soil and cold weather. The southern region has the longest growing seasons, so lots of different cash crops can e grown. It’s also very warm in the Southern Colonies, so diseases can spread quickly.
