What does literacy look like in your content area?
Answering questions within the text, but allowing students to engage with new ideas and thoughts that are based in their experiences and live beyond the text- Kyle Haselton

I don't teach anymore, but love when non-fiction and fiction literature is introduced in content areas. Storytelling makes learning stick!
For me, literacy is everything! Because I teach a literacy class, literacy looks like integrating reading and writing skills into every part of our learning - from the very first assignment of the day to the very last, we are sharpening our comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary skills.

Literacy in my context looks like students practicing a range of skills including phonemic awareness, decoding, segmenting, comprehension, and written expression at varying levels.
