I don't teach anymore, but love when non-fiction and fiction literature is introduced in content areas. Storytelling makes learning stick!

For me, literacy is everything! Because I teach a literacy class, literacy looks like integrating reading and writing skills into every part of our learning - from the very first assignment of the day to the very last, we are sharpening our comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary skills.

Literacy in my context looks like students practicing a range of skills including phonemic awareness, decoding, segmenting, comprehension, and written expression at varying levels.
