In the year of 1717, the second daughter of the king and queen had been born. Everyone was shocked when they realized that she had an extra finger just like her mother. The town even  said, “Wow, another child with an extra finger, a new species is gonna begin soon!” This didn’t let the king and queen lose their love for their beautiful daughter.

Lindsey is a girl with long, blond hair, green eyes that glow like emeralds. Dimples light up her face when she smiles. Whenever she is outside the sun light bounces off her face, making her look like an angel. She is said to be the most beautiful maiden in all the land. Although Lindsey seems like a typical princess, she is different from what you think.
One day, on a quiet winter night, Harold and Elizabeth were  in their headquarters getting ready for a good night's rest, when all of a sudden they heard someone talking to them outside of  their bedroom door. “Pardon me, sir,”said the voice. “It's General Morris. Do you mind if I come in?’’

“Sure,” Harold responded. “What seems to be the matter?”

As Morris opened the door and began to walk toward the king, he said, “ Lord Cyrus has come to see you. Eh, he wants to speak with you.”

“ At this time of night?!” Harold said. “Oh, I know what he wants! He never comes to me unless he is in need of money or if he is up to some trick to take my kingdom down! Bring him to me.”
Elizabeth said,“I will go to Lindsey’s room to see what she is doing. I will let you two talk.”

A little while later, Lord Cyrus was  standing right in front of Harold, waiting for him to say something.

“Oh, hello brother!” said Lord Cyrus. “Long time no see, am I right?”

“Why do you come to me at this hour?” he replied.
“Oh come on, cheer up a bit, it's your only brother you haven't seen in years!”
“I know I haven’t seen you in a while, " said the king. I ‘ve been avoiding you ever since you decided to turn on good and be with evil.”
“ Alright that's enough,” said Cyrus. “Give it to me.”

“Give you what?”

“Ever since mother died you have been hiding the key.’’

“You think I have it? I buried it after my mother's funeral! I would never keep that.”
“Don’t you lie to me! I know you have it!”
“Brother, would I lie to you?”
“Well of course  you would! You are lying to me right now!”
“Oh my, oh my, that's enough. Take him away and let him walk home.”

“A-Alright my lord.” Morris said. “Come along now Cyrus, we must get you out of the castle.”

As the king lay in his bed, he heard Elizbeth enter the room. She got back in bed, and as she fell asleep,  Harold thought about what Cyrus wanted with the key.

It was the morning of Lindsey’s birthday, and she went to give her mother a hug in her room when she realized she wasn’t there. She checked everywhere in the castle but couldn’t find her. When she realized she was missing, she went down stairs and told her father that her mother was sick.”
“Oh, I thought she was out for her usual morning stroll when I awoke.”
“No, father, she was using the lady’s room. She is very sick.”

“Well, I shall send Philip up to bring her some tea.”

“No! Uh, she doesn’t want to get anyone sick. I am only checking on her because I do not mind if I get sick. Anything for my mother.”
“Well, alright.”
Later that day, at around midnight, Lindsey tip-toed out of her room, down the stairs, and out of the castle door. She remembered what her mother said. “Go to the woods first, you will probably find it there.”
So Lindsey headed to the woods and awaited rescue.
As she walked through the cold, bitter forest, she heard two familiar voices approach her. She recognized a nagging voice behind her, and a  soft and kind one trotting to catch up to her. As she turned around, she saw Sasha, her best friend in the entire world, a deer.  And to her surprise, her sister also.

“Sister! What are you doing all alone in the forest? On your birthday especially,” Veronica said. Do you know how dangerous it is?”

“I am off to rescue my mother. She is missing.”

“She is?”

“Yes, I believe since early this morning.”

“How do you know she wasn’t  just on her morning stroll?”

“She  usually is back by 9.”

“Well, I am coming with you, and so is this strange deer.”

“That deer is not strange! She is my best friend!"
