Hello I'm Aubrey Chase and I'm here to share a beautiful, some might say scary story on how my 14th birthday went. I was sitting in class impatiently waiting to leave. The bell was going to ring soon and as soon as it did I needed to get out of there. It was my 14th birthday and I was planning to go to a trampoline park with my friends. As I'm sitting there playing with my hair, My teacher, Mrs.Dunkin called my name. “Aubrey” she said, i was zoned out only hearing muffled voices around me. She was confused and looked mad that she had to say it again. She clears her throat and says “excuse me Aubrey?” I hesitated but I answered “Yes?”. “I think your mom is waiting for you down in the office so pack up all your things and go.” she said. My mom? Why is she here? I pack up and speed walk to the office. I saw her patiently waiting for me but she looked pale, like she just saw a ghost. She says “Something bad is happening and you're the only person who can help.” I was shocked. My mom has never said something like that. “Come on” she says. I ran behind her. Once we got outside the sky was black and the air was foggy so i asked her “what's going on” My mom answers “Well when you were born, Your dad’s sister was always jealous of him and what he had accomplished so she stole our family chest with your dad’s magic dust inside of it, and she continues to live in a huge tower.” “haha funny joke. What's my birthday surprise?” I said. She looked at me with a mad, frustrated look on her face so at that point I could tell that she wasn’t joking. “I'm sorry mom but that’s really hard to believe. What do I have to do?” “Here take this,” she says, handing me a necklace. “This will help you with anything you need, all you need to do is grab it.” I put it on my neck waiting for more answers. She told me these “easy” steps too.. Well technically live. “First thing: Keep your eyes

open, you never know what could happen. Second thing: Stay with your siblings” “Wait," I said. “I thought you said I was the only one that could help”. “You are,” she says. “So why are Brianna and Chris coming?” I asked. “So you're not alone and so you don’t die.” she says. “Oh alright.” I say to let her continue. “And the most important thing, follow the blue arrows.” my brain couldn’t take all of this information at once so i went into my lunch box to get myself my leftover chips. She told me, “This isn’t the time to be eating Aubrey”. I couldn’t help it but I rolled my eyes and continued to eat anyway. She asks me, “So do you understand?” I answered, “Nope not at all actually” I don’t think she liked that answer. She gave me a map with names of places I had never even heard of and told me that Brianna would help me. Brianna and Chris walked up to me out of nowhere and asked if I was ready. The answer was no because I had to finish my chips but I went anyway. This huge circle that was outlined by bold glitter appeared and we stepped into it. Brianna, my sister, is a 19 year old genius, a dancer, and a wanna be teacher. She’s really bossy but I don't mind because I'm usually bossier. And Chris, my brother, is 17, a very good basketball player, and a really good role model. And then there's me, Aubrey, I'm 14, a softball player, and a good 3 point shooter in basketball. I guess we fit in with each other but we fight a lot. Anyways back to the journey. Brianna stole the map out of my hand and started pointing into random directions while Chris was freaking out. I yelled at him to shut up but he didn’t and nerdy Brianna was still looking at the map. Once we finally got a move on, following all the blue arrows we could find, Brianna was giving me a lecture on how I had to act infront of certain animals and people. I wasn’t really listening, I was too focused on something

in the distance. It was tall and scary looking, so I asked Brianna about it. “Were you even listening to me?” she said. “Yeah yeah don't go near anything living bluh bluh bluh what is that?” I asked. “It’s just a tower, don't be a baby.” she answered. But wait. A tower!? “That's where dad’s sister is!” I said. “Oh yeah you're right, well what are you waiting for, let's go!” she said. “Just because it’s a tower doesn’t mean it’s hers.” Chris said. Brianna took the map and smacked him in the head with it and said, “So there’s just a random tower at the x marks the spot on the map? I don’t think so.” “Geez ok ok” Chris said, running away from her covering his head with his arms. We made it to the tower and we were trying to climb it but it was too difficult. But as soon as we were about to give up a beautiful pegasus came soaring through. It picked us up and got us to the top of the tower. We climbed through the window and made it safely. Just as we thought we were safe, 3 random scary looking monsters with sharp teeth and 8 legs came running at us. I grabbed my necklace so it wouldn’t fall off and jumped in the air to dodge them all. The 3 monsters disappeared and me, Brianna, and Chris safely landed on the floor. “Well mom did say the necklace would help.” Chris said smiling. We went into a creepy hallway with no lights. There were blue arrows leading us to a door. Before we could open it, we heard a voice. “I was expecting you, so don’t think you're slick. Don’t be shy, come on in.” I looked at Brianna, but she already had her hand on the doorknob. She walked in with me and Chris following behind her. She loudly said “You think you're so cool stealing your brother's powers right? You think you're so slick? Well you're not.” “Well actually I am-” before our godmother could say anything else, Chris knocked her out. We ran to get the chest. We grabbed it and ran out of the room.

When we made it outside, The pegasus was already waiting to bring us back down once we made it to the bottom the portal was already opened. We jumped in it and returned home. We gave it to my mom and The sky and air cleared up. Thanks for listening to how my 14th birthday went. Today I'm finally 15. I'm very proud to say that this birthday was not the same but i still have my best friends by my side, Chris and Brianna.
