Hi, My name is Ava. I am 11 years old and in 6th grade. I go to Franklin Junior High. My best friend is Sadie. I like to play volleyball and am on a team. I also like to draw. On my 11th birthday, 6 months ago my mom gave me a coloring pad. This was no ordinary pad, it was special. Whatever you drew in it appeared in real life. (My mom made it by herself because she is a magician.) One day I brought it to school and something happened that was out of the ordinary.
It was the middle of May and I was walking through the halls with Sadie going to our next class. Oh, and by the way Sadie also has something magical. She has a magic wand. Ok now back to the story, so one day we were walking to our class (which is P.E.) When we went to put our stuff in the lockers before class there was a strange sound, “What's that?” I asked.
“I'm not sure,” replied Sadie.
“Let's go check it out!” I said. So I slammed the locker shut and we ran off but as the locker door was closing the pad fell out of it. Little did I know that was going to become a big problem.

We realized it was just a kid's backpack that broke, so we went to class. “What a clumsy kid,” said Sadie.
When we arrived at the gym I saw that I forgot my water bottle in my locker so I ran back to get it. That was the moment I realized my pad was gone. I began to panic and got worried, “What if someone stole it?”, “What if it got thrown away?” If someone stole it then something terrible would happen. I went to get Sadie right away.
By the time the class ended, I was with Sadie back in the halls. We spoke about what could have happened to my pad then suddenly heard a noise banging against the lockers. There was our teacher Mrs. Jones with her hands on a locker door, but something felt wrong about how she looked. I examined her then I noticed something. Instead of fingers, she had big blue claws that looked as though they were made of ice. In one of the claws, there was my pad. “HEY,” I shouted, trying to get her attention. She looked at me and then flew straight through a window breaking the glass. We started throwing things at the window to make her fall but it was no use because she was too fast. I wanted to chase after her but Sadie held me back.
“Look what she dropped,” said Sadie. On the floor, there was a rolled-up piece of paper, a map. I grabbed it and grasped it tightly as I unrolled it. The map had a bunch of small pictures and next to them were words in a language I could not understand. I took out my phone and tried to translate it but nothing came up. It was like it was made up. As I looked down at the map I realized that it sort of looked like a badly drawn map of the world. On it where it looked like the USA should be was a red dot and where Europe should be was a blue dot. Next to the red dot was a picture of a pad……My pad.
Sadie also seemed to notice it too because she said, “Hey isn't that your pad?”

"You're right. I bet it’s taking it there. We have to go catch it!”
When school was over Sadie teleported us to London. We landed right next to Big Ben and started to walk around. I decided to take out the map to see if it would help us at all. The map had changed since I last looked at it. The dot for London was now glowing a vibrant purple and the dot for where we lived was gray. There was another difference about the map which Sadie pointed out, “Look! There’s a monster close to the purple dot.” She was right. Right next to the dot, there was a monster that looked like it was a big blob. Then something was strange about this picture. It was moving. I looked behind us and there was a  huge purple blob with three giant red eyes.  It was sucking up everything it touches.
