In the summer of the year 2005, there was a boy named Sebastian. Sebastian lived in San Francisco with his dad. Sebastian wass 12 years old. He was an average student in school but he was bullied. When Sebastian was born, he had a lung disease which caused him to need a lung transplant. Sebastian received a titanium set of lungs. This is why he was bullied in school.

This day started off like any other. Sebastian was getting ready for the day and went into the kitchen for breakfast. He ambled into the sweet smell of his dad’s waffles. His dad sat down at the table with him and they ate. His dad turned the news channel on the television and turned the volume up. Sebastian heard the news reporter talking about global warming. The man said that because of this, the trees were dying. Sebastian’s dad shut the TV off abruptly and quickly placed the remote on the table. He looked at his son and told him something that was hard to believe. “Sebastian,” he said. “The trees are dying. The air is becoming toxic and in five days it won’t be breathable.” This came as quite a surprise to Sebastian. “Because of your lungs, you are the only one who can save the world. You must travel to the Island of Trenta, retrieve the magic seeds, and restore the air.” Sebastian didn’t fully understand but he packed up a bag of food and water and set off on his journey.

Sebastian strided for a mile. He knew he had to travel across the Pacific Ocean but he did not know how. So he kept walking until he was on the shore of a beach under the Golden Gate Bridge. He searched for hours in the sand and the banks of the water to find anything that could be a clue of where the Island of Trenta was located. All of the sudden, a seagull flew overhead. At first, Sebastian didn’t think anything of this because he was on a beach. But, the seagull had a scroll in his beak. The seagull dropped it right at Sebastian’s feet. He picked it up and unrolled it.
“Oh my!” he said. “This is a map!”
The map showed a secret passageway across the ocean and how to get there. So, Sebastian walked and walked and he came across a cave. He entered it and found the passageway leading into the Pacific Ocean. Sebastian jumped up and down in excitement. Sebastian moved deeper into the cave.
There was one problem that he couldn’t stop thinking about.
“How am I going to get across the ocean?” he questioned.

Once again, Sebastian looked everywhere for something to help him. He groaned in frustration. But, when he lifted his head towards the top of the cave he saw an imprint on the ceiling. It read, “If going west is what you please, you must say the magic phrase. Shout it loud and clear for everyone to hear: Oh great, mighty ship, please take me on your trip!”

Sebastian was so stunned by this but he knew what he had to do. He shouted so loud it echoed off the walls of the cave. “Oh great, mighty ship, please take me on your trip!” he exclaimed.

Then, everything went silent. With a burst of light, a massive pirate ship appeared at the edge of the cave. It was floating on top of the water when a pirate jumped out of it. “ Who has summoned me?” he called.

Sebastian stood up tall, intimidated by the presence of the mighty pirate.
“ I did,” he answered. “ I need to travel across the Pacific Ocean to the Island of Trenta.”
The pirate replied and said, “ Oh, right this way Lad. My name is Scotty Blackbeard.” Sebastian followed Scotty onto the ship and they set off on the journey.

Sebastian explained to Scotty that the trees were dying and he had to retrieve the magic seeds from the island in order to save the world.

When he said this, Scotty seemed very concerned. “ You do know how to get them, right?” Scotty asked.

Sebastian replied, “No, but I was trying to figure it out.”

“Well I know a thing or two about it. You must defeat Lord Mantal, which is not an easy task. No one for the past 145 years has done it. I came close to it once.” Scotty said.

Sebastian was so stunned to hear this, not only because he now knew how to get the seeds, but also because he learned how dangerous it is to go to the Island of Trenta. So, Sebastian kept on talking with Scotty and came to find out that Scotty had used a special backpack for his attempt to destroy Lord Mantal. This backpack carried all the magical items you would need, except armor. All you have to do is chant what you need 2 times  and it will appear. Scotty and Sebastian got some rest while on their way to the island.Sebastian woke up to the sound of waves crashing. He could smell the salty seas and he felt the cool breeze on his back. He went to find Scotty.

Scotty was sitting at the giant steering wheel of the boat. “ Land Ho!” he shouted.

Sebastian gazed over the vast area of water around them. In the distance, he saw, and island with a huge castle on it. Somehow, he knew it was the Island of Trenta. He ran back to the cabin he was resting in and gathered all his things. He was saying good-bye to Scotty.

“Oh, thank you so much for all your help!” Sebastian said.

He had expected for Scotty to say good-bye as well but something else happened. Scotty handed him a blue backpack.

“For you," he said. “Go save the world. Good-bye.”

Sebastian gave Scotty a hug, slung the backpack over his shoulder and stepped off the ship. He felt a bit uneasy, not knowing what would happen next.

Sebastian was on the shore of the island. He walked up the beach and sat under a tree. He wanted to test the backpack. At first, Sebastian asked for a wrench.
“ Wrench!” he said.
But, nothing appeared. He remembered what Scotty had told him. He had to chant it twice.
 “ Wrench, wrench!” he chanted.
And suddenly, a wrench appeared in his lap. He knew that Scotty had told him the truth. The backpack works. He stuck the wrench back in the bag and started walking to the castle.

Sebastian was walking and he kept thinking about how he would protect himself while battling Lord Mantal. So, Sebastian went searching for anything he could use to make armor.
He strolled around the island for 2 hours. He found rocks and leaves in the forest and shells on the beach. Sebastian carried all his supplies to a clear area on the ground. He got a knife out of his backpack. He used this to smooth down the rocks. Sebastian  took the rocks and shells and put them in straight rows. He tied them together with rope from his backpack. He made a vest that he would wear. He then took the leaves and tied them to each other. He used this to strap his bag to his back so it wouldn’t fall off. Finally, he got a magic sword from his backpack. He was ready for battle.

Sebastian dashed across the island until he stood at the door of the castle. It was made out of solid gold and had black flags flying on top of it.

“This is it,” he said.

Sebastian barged through the massive door, ready to face Lord Mantal. Mantal was lying on a throne with his feet up. Sebastian saw a gold bag around his neck. It was a bag of seeds.

“ I have come for the magic seeds,” Sebastian explained.

With this, Lord Mantal stood up and grabbed his sword. He looked Sebastian up and down and he knew he would beat him.

“Oh please,” Lord Mantal taunted him, “ I could beat you in my sleep.”

So, Sebastian held his sword up high and he charged at Mantal. They fought and fought. Then, Sebastian struck down on Mantal’s sword and it went flying out of his hand. Sebastian cut the bag off of Mantal’s neck and stepped away from him.
“ You are the only one to defeat me,” he said. “ You may take the magic seeds and I will help you get home.”
Lord Mantal called for his carriage and the driver brought them to the shore of the beach. Mantal transformed into a golden dolphin and jumped in the water. Sebastian hopped on his back and they rode all the way back to the beach under the Golden Gate Bridge.

“Good-bye,” Lord Mantal said, “ and good luck!”
