CLawBot.&#160; Portal(just a door),&#160; &#160;Blocks

Have a timer set to 5 Minutes when timerkeeper says go robot goes through your time portal to the past to stop ww3&#160; take the scattered blocks to the present&#160; build a wall with the blocks in a taped area. Each block is a time memory&#160;

Once you have your time portal, you have to decide which side is the present and which side is the past. Then you can scatter your blocks in the present. Your robot has to travel through the portal with the blocks. Once you have the blocks on the other side of the portal, your robot has to build a wall with the blocks to stop the war. You must do this in 5 min. If you fail to build the wall before the five min. is up, the war will have started and you will have to start over.

Hello Students! Your team must create a challenge for other students to try with their robots they build in their own classes! The challenge could involve fastest time, navigating a course, picking up and moving objects or something totally wild, but you need a story, materials, setup and rules. Follow Mr. Hubbard's example and use your group's pages to create your very own!

1 Clawbot, Cardboard: Keys, Ramps, PlayDoh: Boulders, Timer

1- Robot MUST start behind starting line 2- 5 minutes to complete the challenge 3- Robot has to collect ALL 3 keys before crossing finish line 4- Robot drops keys off in the portal bin 5- Robot MUST touch finish line before timer ends.

Start- Make checker pattern on cardboard, for robot starting line. Finish- Make a portal to Earth with cardboard and decorate it to look like a portal -Set a 5 minute timer on Chromebook -Place Robiana on starting point -When timer starts, Robot begins going through obstacles -Team members let down boulders when robot is progressing through challenge- If robot gets hit, start over at the starting line. -When robot collects all 3 keys, steer to the portal -When robot touches portal and goes past line, game is done, and stop the timer.

Year: 2999.&#160;Technology has advanced at a supersonic rate, as scientists have estimated that a robot uprising would impact the world by 3056.&#160;Robots have become crucial to warfare and many on the battlefield have fallen to a robot or fallen trying to protect a robot.&#160;The abilities of these bots have surpassed those of humans, but, they must be controlled by Humans.&#160;A war has broken out between the newly formed island countries,&#160;Inoculus&#160;(Team #1) and&#160;Volotuyu&#160;(Team #2).&#160;Due to the low military power of both countries, they have agreed to fight with robots and capture the opponent's flag&#160;

You can't knock down the walls. To win you have to get the governor out of his prison cell and give him the jewel. If you knock the jail on the governor you lose and have to restart.

The robot must find his way around the maze, Take down the humans, and have fun while doing it!

Robot, Two Tinfoil ball's with pom poms inside and small exposed hole,&#160;roll&#160;of duct tape, Popsicle Sticks,&#160;pipe cleaners, No slip carpet foam , and felt.

NO stealing from the other teams robot, but if they drop it, you can put it back in your holder but cannot use their flag and use it for yourself. Try for minimal contact. You can pick it up, or push&#160;&#160;the flag.

You start at your flag holder/ base and try to steal the other&#160;teams&#160;flag and put it back in your holder. During the cahllenge there are obstacles. Put the opponent's flag in your holder and you win!

Robot,&#160; snowflakes-2,&#160; festive monsters-3,&#160; festive trophy,&#160; dungeon, and timer.

You have to either carry or push the festive monsters to the dungeon and take the snowflakes to the trophy once you take all the festive monsters to the dungeon you win the festive trophy.

put the festive monsters kind of far away from the dungeon and then put the snowflakes close to the festive monsters you have to put all of the festive monsters in the dungeon and move the snowflakes to the trophy before three minutes are up.

you have 1 1/2 minutes to clean up the garbage you have to use robot to pick up any trash&#160; you can save the sea life by taking&#160; plastic off of them for extra points.

The point scoring is bigger or heavier = more points. Smaller or lighter= less. ALso if you hit the fish they are marked with negative points so don't hit them. Last if you hit the temple you lose 5 points if you knock it down you lose all of your points.

Mini Game #3: Destructo Time!

Towers (something to destroy) little objects to go inside of boxes tape (to mark sides of lines)

Rule #1: You cannot touch any of the stuff after the game has started Rule#2: If you touch the tape on the ground you must wait ten seconds Rule #3: If your robot gets stuck while destroying an object you may move it

To set up you will need to place all the objects around&#160; for extra points you may add some small things inside boxes that the robots need to dump out object of the game is to destroy all structures There will be a time limit of 3 minutes&#160;

The smell of hot dog fills the air as the crowd cheers for you. " Five more scores, and they win" said the announcer. The other team blocks your way. You are the only player with the ball and you have to score for the fate of your team. Five players are in your way, and they're not your friends. The goalie gets ready. Everyone is looking at you, its your turn to kick, the stadium is quiet. The announcer questioned " Who is going to win, will she/he score?".

1 clawbot, Old tech equipment (marked with point values), Blue masking tape for start and finish boxes

1. Your bot's wheels must start in the starting box. 2. You have 3 minutes. 3. You may push or pick up the garbage. 4. Garbage must be ENTIRELY inside the target area to count for points.

-Starting Area...tape a box area on floor for robot to start. -Finish Area...tape a 3 ft x 1.5 ft box to push garbage into. -Have a student set up an online timer on their chromebook for 3 min. -Place one clawbot in the starting area. -When the timer says GO, begin pushing or picking up the old tech garbage and moving it to the Finish Area in any order. If playing with team members, rotate players to let everyone control bot. -Gameplay stops when the timer says STOP. Tally points for any garbage that is completely inside the Finish Area.

Make A layout of cardboard around 25 by 15 inches. Make another and duct tape to the other piece of cardboard. Start by making some monsters use small boxes and one or two big boxes. Put googly eyes on them with tape or glue and there you go you have your monsters for the challenge but as a finishing touch put some tape at a diagonal angle for eyebrows. Take another small box and only put googly eyes on it, no angry eyebrows, this is your companion. Name him whatever you like. Now set up the course put down the cardboard layout and put the monsters on top.&#160; Now for your robot take one claw off this will make the robot have a "hand", your robot is going to smack the monsters off the cardboard. Now make sure everything is set up and your ready to play. Now For the gameplay, Place your robot on top of the mountain. Set up the monsters anywhere you want to but make sure they are on top of the mountain, they are going to fall when you start moving your robot. Now set up the boss or bosses behind the tiny monsters. then put your friend in the cardboard box. Get a timer and set it for 3 minutes, once you're ready press play on the timer and start smacking those monsters, in the 3 minutes try to save your best friend. He's a good monster. He's stuck in a box and needs help.

It's 2025. Robots are slowly taking over people's jobs and the world! You are a robot,&#160;and are working to collect the remains of buildings and other materials. However, Your dream job is to be a construction worker, and you finally got your shot! The head construction worker has offered you a position... there is an old building that broke due to a tornado. Your job is to gather the parts from the old building in order&#160;to make a new building out of the broken parts.

It's the year 3019 and the robots have taken over the world, except one. The robot will have to go through challenges and obstacles to save the one human left. Will the robot be successful?

It is the year 9999 and the robots have separated into 4 clans.&#160;One robot from each clan will compete to see who is the best. last, robot standing wins.&#160;The robots will go through a series of three events.&#160;One will be eliminated each round.&#160;Whoever makes it through each challenge, their clan rules the world, and wins one million dollars in Itunes gift cards.

1 Cardboard Christmas Tree, 1 ClawBot, 8 Fake Ornaments, 1 timer, 2 fake candy canes

-Big ornaments=5 points Medium ornaments=2 Small ornaments=1 -The ornament must be 100% in for the points to count - Must start 6 feet way from the trunk of the tree - Can touch the tree - If an ornament falls out of it's place that amount of points is deducted -The candy canes are a bonus 4 points! Put them any where on the tree - The three rings are a bonus of 2 points

Set the tree down on a flat floor. Scatter the ornaments around the tree. Set the robot as far away from the tree as wanted. Set a timer for 1 minute. Start the timer as the robot starts moving.  When time is up add the points earned

It's the year 2088, right after world war lll. The war has wiped out the entire human race. However the robots still live. The robots must go through time portal back to before the war, and stop it from ever happening. Each block you put on a wall you can save millions of lives and destroys the terrible time memories.

1: You can only take things from the other players box when there are no more items on the playing field 2: You can only have 4 zombies 3: Only 2 players 4: If you run into a zombie you must stay still for 5 seconds

1:Put 4 boxes on the floor. made out of masking tape (see next page for size) 2:Place zombies 3:Place food 4: Put both robots in starting box --------------------------------------------------------------------------- How To play ------------- 1: Set timer for 3 min. 2: Start timer and both robots bring as many item into your box as you can 3:Don run into zombies

-Each robot attack you successfully defend against gives you 1 point. Remember that not defending an attack kills the humans and you lose. -Each bug you successfully capture gives you points (the number of points written on it). -Beating the game (winning) gives you 10 points. -If you win, you get bonus points. For every 10 seconds you have left you get 1 bonus point. -After you finish you must add your points.

It was a nice life until the war began to capture the flag! The flag was the most important possession. If this robot succeeds and captures the flag, we win. But we have very little time to get it. The flag represents greatness and robot rights!

you're underwater with tons and tons of trash surrounding you, and wildlife is getting trapped in the plastic all around you so you need to clean up the trash, and save the environment!

1 Robot, floor, blue tape, black tape, several bugs (4-10)

-You have 2 minutes to complete the challenge. - Every 30 seconds the bugs plan an attack on your city. When the attacks happen you must be in the city to stop the attacks,&#160;otherwise&#160;the humans will die. (you must be at the starting point - the human city (blue tape) - to defend) -Bug attacks last 1 second. -All bugs must be captured and brought inside the human city (blue). -Once all bugs are captured you may proceed to the bug king lair. -If you reach the bug king lair before the timer runs out, you kill him and you win. -To capture bugs, you can either push them or grab them. They must stay alive so you can learn how they are so smart, so you cannot lift them off the ground (this would frighten them so much they would die of fright). -You must get all bugs before the bug king

Setup: Make a square on the floor with blue tape. 10-15 feet away make another box with black tape. Put the Robot inside the blue "box." The blue tape symbolizes the last human city in existence (all other humans throughout South Africa live in small villages). Set the bugs on the floor in random places. All bugs should be farther than 2 feet from the human city. Gameplay: Your job is to force the bugs into the human city (blue box) while defending your city from the bugs. Once you have captured all enemy bugs, you proceed to the bug king lair, where you must defeat the bug king.

It is the year 3,123,899 and Jeffree Star is taking over our world. your robot is here to help us. If your robot doesn't pick up 4 antidotes in 1 minute and 30 seconds you have not saved our world, but if you pick up all four you have saved us all. When you pick up one antidote you remove one alien clone. Your mission starts when your robot leaves the spaceship. Good luck.

Cardboard, Robot, blocks, Popsicle sticks, hot glue, pompom's, googly eyes, rug grip.

First, create a ramp with rug grips to make traction. Then make the starting and finishing point. Next make sure your bot can physically get up the ramp. After you make and test everything you can start to play.

To play, set a timer for 3 minutes. After that, you have to race to the blocks and pick up 2 of them. Next, you have to take both blocks up the ramp and go down. Finally, go through the maze, drop the blocks and race to the finish line.

&#160;symbols: duct tape, sticky carpet,&#160; Clones: cardboard, marker, screws maze walls: scotch tape (on the ground)

You have 3 minutes to get through a maze.&#160;5 Jeffree Star clones are blocking your path in the maze. You must pick up the antidotes on the ground, and put them on your back. Then you must get past the clone standing in front&#160;of you. If you touch&#160;a Jeffree clone you must restart at the beginning of the maze. You cannot go outside of the maze walls. When you pick up an antidote you remove one alien clone. Try to remove all of the aliens before time runs out. There is a clear mask the driver has to wear over their face to challenge their vision.

Start: Place masking tape on the ground in a box shap0e Place clones around your tape to block&#160;your bots way Place antidotes finish: make two spaces one for entry&#160;and one for the exit&#160; &#160; &#160; &#160; &#160; -set a timer for 1 and a half minutes -place the cardboard bots around the box of tape, blocking the way to the exit -then place the symbols (duct tape) next to the bots

The year is 3014 and the Zombie Apocolypse is here!&#160;You must save yourself by collecting life essentials to survive in your safety bunker in your basement.&#160;You could be in there for forever so grab everything you can.&#160;Watch out for zombies on the loose!&#160;If you run into them you could die!&#160;

1.If the robot gets stuck then you can move it but you put every thing back 2. You can touch the items with you hand 3. Every time a block is stacked or falls you switch turns 4. You get 3 mins 5. If your robo touches the aluminum it is bad

if you build with the blocks then you get 1 pt. if you build with jenga blocks then you get 3 pt. If you build with cardboard then you get 4 pt.&#160;

1. We will develop, test, and refine our own robotics challenges. 2. We will work constructively and responsibly with group members to work toward our common goal. 3. We will publish our robotics challenges on Book Creator to deliver STEM challenges for students around the world.

It is the year 2734. The humans are long since gone after the Robot Apocalypse of the 2400s. Some less advanced clawbots still roam the Earth, cleaning up the humans mess.

2 claw bots, 3 blue blocks, 3 red blocks, 2 green blocks Tape for maze, Red marker (optional)

&#160;allowed to crash into other players tower. No touching different color blocks other than the color of the maze the robot is i=one and green Blocks. If block/s falls off tower start over with block/s the fell onto the ground. each color block (red or Blue) is worth 2 points if you bring it back to the building place and stack it up with other blocks. Green blocks are bonus points worth 7 points

Setup-Take tape and make a maze of your design. Take Two Clawbots and put them on the starting point of our maze. Place 3 red blocks and 3 blue blocks near the end of the maze (shuffled). Place 2 green blocks one on each side farther away.&#160; Gameplay- Have the Clawbots go through the maze and Pickup Their Color block (based on color of tape) one by one. The clawbots bring back the blocks to the building point and begin to make their tower stacking one on top on another.&#160;If the player chooses they can go for the green cube farther away to get extra points.&#160;The other Clawbot can knockover the tower of the other persons.&#160;The player with the tower has the correct colors and/or more points win.&#160;

Cardboard, tape, Little blue like screws, little multi color blocks, also little mats that go under rugs and carpet, and our robot.

You have three minutes to complete this challenge.You have to pick up the blocks then put them into the plastic container.If you pick up the red blocks it is minus time but if you pick the blue block it is plus time.Once you cross the finish line the time stops.When you pick up all of the blocks and cross the finish line you have completed the robot challenge. Red it is minus 30 seconds. and blue is 30 seconds to add on.

Take two green blocks and red blocks.One blue block.A rug and a wall.One googly monster and a finish line.

Popsicle sticks, pompom, foam, cardboard, foil, "net"

the bad people will want the space rocks, so you're intended to dodge them. You have few minutes to capture the flag, and you must collect all the space rocks in order to do so and trade them in for the puffball monsters. if you don&#180;t collect all of the space rocks and trade them in for all of the puffball monsters, you cannot complete the mission. You need all of the puffballs&#180; strength to get back the robot rights.

The robot trades the space rocks with puffball monsters, then after you collected all the space rocks, you head to go capture the flag - then all the robot rights are back!

The bug population was always more than the humans, but by the 10th&#160;millennium&#160;their&#160;population was out of control. The bugs were everywhere, and they had started to take over the world. By A.d. 9,921 the only humans still alive where in South Africa.&#160;Then, luckily, the humans trapped the king bug and all the other bugs when the bugs tried to free their trapped king. The humans locked all of the bugs into bug institutions, where it was planned that scientists would watch and control the bug population to decrease it over the next 50 years. However, the first few bugs escaped in 9,924, only 3 years after they were imprisoned, and started planning to take over the world for good. By 9,935&#160;the majority of the bugs had mysteriously&#160;escaped from their prisons. Now, the last humans alive are in a large human city in South Africa. Their only hope is a robot immune to the venomous bites of the bugs, controlled by you in your safe building. The bugs have started an attack on your city. Can you save all of humanity?

These are the alien clones, they look exactly like Jeffree Star.

These are the antidotes. If you pick these up you remove a clone. 

Mini Game #2: Maze Challenge

Tape (for maze) robots (2) &#160;road blocks (any objects that can be an obstacle)

rule #1: can't touch the tape lines (If you touch the maze lines you have to wait 10 seconds) Rule #2: If any of the objects are touched you must wait 5 seconds Rule #3: if your bot gets stuck you may move it But it has to be back at the start

Both robots start behind the tape &#160;and go through the maze with sharp turns, land mines, etc Each robot has their own maze Both mazes are similar When creating the maze create to your own level

You are in a ally. its cold... you hear a moan. you have heard it before. Then you remember its a full moon.&#160; And the werewolves are hungry so&#160; you have to run in the alley with obstacles at every turn.&#160;&#160;

It's 2018 and almost Christmas! But all the ornaments fell off the tree! Help the robot collect the ornaments and place them on the tree again before time runs out!

Cardboard box, tape, blocks, Rubber Mat, Working Claw Bot, bubble wrap.

- pick up all the colored boxes and move to the other side.

- Avoid the boxes to avoid extra time added 

-If you touch any of the boxes on the first obstacle it is -5 seconds

Small Cubes are moved around the room and you must pick them up but the bottoms are a rubber type fabric so it is hard to pick them up. you must also dodge all of the bigger boxes that are delaying you to get to the other Cubes. Also to mark your time you must run into the pyramid of blocks.

Festive monsters celebrate after defeating all the humans except you. You are the only one still alive to defeat as many festive monsters as possible. Just make sure you don't hurt the good guys called snowflakes and push the snowflakes next to the trophy. And if you do all that you get a festive trophy!!!&#160;

Mini Game #1: Bowling

5 to 10 bowling pins (paper towel rolls) One Ramp (made from duct tape and cardboard) (if you have an actual ramp and bowling pins you may use them)

Rule #1: your robot must at the edge of the ramp in the beginning wheels must also be at the blue line at all time Rule #2: You may only go down the ramp once Rule #3: If your bot falls off the ramp or gets stuck that is the only time you can restart and try again &#160;Rule #4: You can only use the controller while going down the ramp and once your bot is past the blue line at the end of the ramp you must put the controller down Rule #5: If your robot gets stuck on a bowling pin you can take it off and start over

Start off with placing your ramp in an open area ( it would be better on a smooth surface) Place the pins about one foot away from the ramp (if you would like a challenge you may put the pins about 1 1/2 feet away)

CLawbot, cardboard (lots), paint (green, black) or green felt, hot glue gun, net, scissors, pencil

1. The ball has to scored in the net 5x to win 2. The bot can't touch the defenders. If you do you have to try again. 3. The ball can touch the defenders 4. The bot and ball can't get out of the field

How to make it (field steps) 1. Hot glue cardboard together if the card board it not big enough 2. Paint the card board green, or cover it with green felt ( net steps) 1. Cut the 2 cardboard into a triangle, cut a cardboard in a rectangle 3. Hot glue net on field 2. Get a net that fits with in hot glue the net on the the 2 sides of both triangle. (If you don't understand the net steps you can look at the pictures or search online) (defender steps) 1. Get a card board, draw a stick figure 2. trim the figure 3. tape on field ( ball steps) 1. Get tinfoil and shape it in to a ball 2. Paint it into a soccer ball 3. Let it dry

How to set up Get the bot ready and the bot is put on the opposite side of the net. The ball is in front of the bot, so the bot can start with the ball

Its the year 2068, all the robots have taken over, but there is one left. Robiana Jones. He faces difficult challenges, starting with boulders to difficult obstacles. Robiana is trying to get back to earth safely, but he has to go through the temple of Doom. Robiana must collect three keys, to unlock the portal back to Earth, will he succeed? Will his luck bring him to the finish line? We will see, if he can make it through the temple of Doom in 5 minutes.
