“Ahh finally! A new person to help!'' the creepy crayon thought! Elliot was on his way back from another hard session of his extracurricular activity, but other than that his day at school had gone fine.

Feeling depressed, Elliot Pelican went home and was surprised to see his purple crayon sitting on the bed! As he was walking towards the bed, he noticed something was wrong. His crayon had a slightly darker purple hue and an evil smile. Later on when they were both asleep, Elliot woke up suddenly because of a bad dream. The dream was about the creepy crayon taking over the world!

Later that day, he went home and when he walked into his bedroom, he saw a purple message on the wall: HOW DARE YOU LEAVE ME! Elliot jumped back and slammed the door closed. He was scared and confused because he thought the crayon was gone. When he opened the door again, the crayon was gone. He ran to get a sponge to clean the wall before his parents saw it.

Elliot woke up panicked and rushed out to his room to grab breakfast and his backpack. The purple crayon jumped into the open pocket of his bag. When Elliot got to school, everyone started laughing at him and he realized that he was still in his pajamas. He went bright red and ran to the bathroom.

At diving time, where he usually failed because he never saw the salmon or the rocks, he asked to go to the bathroom. “Okay,” said the instructor “But make it quick!” Elliot ran and hid behind a tree. He quickly took out the remote and started making the salmon robot swim around!

The crayon rubbed his tip on a big stone and wrote: in all capital letters!! Elliot was diving down in the air when he saw the message on the rock and felt a shiver go up his wing.

Elliot finds a perfect, but suspicious crayon! When he brings it home unexpected things start 

to happen and Elliot is beginning to wonder why he picked it up in the first place. Will this be the biggest mistake of his life?

After a few minutes Elliot realized, wait… I can’t sit here all day! He thought for a while. Then, “AHA!” He grabbed a heavy book and plopped it on top. Good thing Elliot loved reading. Then Elliot crossed his wings and waited for Jasper. “Jasper, come let’s check that creepy crayon is still in the box I trapped it in!” Elliot blurted out the minute Jasper walked through the door. “YES!” They both yelled when they saw the creepy crayon was still there.

Elliot Pelican finds a mysterious crayon on the beach while practising for his fishing test. He was struggling to keep up with his fishing class. However, the day of the test arrives and he still feels like he could faint. During, the test the crayon randomly picks himself up and starts answering the questions for him! Will this be the answer to his problems or will it create a new one?

Two months later the crayon made a family and one of his kids had Elliot's happy and jolly spirit in him. The crayon thought fondly of their time together.

Instructions/Notes: There are 4 hidden easter eggs in this digital book that I made on Book Creator! There are 4 arrows pointing to a hidden voice message. If you click the image the arrow is pointing to, you hear a word. At the end those words will reveal a hidden message. Good Luck! Also, try to find a spider on every page (if you click the spiders, nothing happens and that's on purpose)

At the end of the day, Elliot Pelican got her test back and received an A+. Elliot Pelican had always dreamed of getting an A+, but somehow it didn't feel right. She didn't feel like she really earned it. On her way home, she grabbed the crayon and threw it into the ocean thinking she'd never see that creepy thing again.The next morning, Elliot Pelican woke up, feeling good about throwing away the creepy crayon.

The crayon closed his eyes, clenched up his tip and turned a very bright purple. It almost looked like he turned red and was about to blow up. Nobody in the audience seemed to notice. After the crayon turned the paper over three times, Elliot grabbed the crayon in her wing and squeezed him very tight. She finally got to read her poem in peace. After she was done, her teacher told her that she did a GREAT job. Unlike the last time her teacher was proud of when the crayon did the work, this time she knew she did it herself. She felt like she was flying but she was still on the ground.

About the Author

Hello my name is Xavier and I am a grade 4 student at F.H. Miller PS. I wrote and illustrated The Unexpected Adventure with Creepy Crayon &amp; Elliot. Part 1 was written by Aaron Reynolds and illustrated by Peter Brown. My favourite color is neon pacific ocean cyan and light blue combined. I have a sister named Aurora.

However, when she glanced at her bedside table, she knew something wasn't right. There, beautifully wrapped in purple, was a present and it wasn't even her birthday and it certainly wasn't Christmas. All of a sudden, the present started to move like something was alive  inside!  Then the lid popped off the present and out came the creepy crayon!!!

He didn't think it would come back so he went to water school. When Elliot Pelican got home...THE CRAYON WAS THERE!! He was desperate to get rid of this crayon! Finally, he flew over a random person's house and dropped the perfect, pointy, creepy crayon! A couple minutes later, Jasper the rabbit came out of his house and saw a purple crayon by the sewer drain. Purple. Pointy. Perfect.                        

“Coming!” yelled Elliot. After Elliot ate dinner he got ready for bed. “I really hope the creepy crayon doesn’t come back,” he said to himself. The next morning Elliot woke up and looked around. No creepy crayon. Elliot checked his whole room. NO CREEPY CRAYON!!! “Phew!” Elliot sighed with relief.

Wow! I’m so impressed with the Creepy Crayon inspired stories made by you very talented FH Miller fourth graders! There is some wonderfully creepy writing and some beautifully creepy illustrations. Aaron Reynolds and I might have to steal a few of your ideas. Just kidding. Or am I?  But seriously, you did excellent work, and I hope you’ll continue making stories…even if they’re not creepy at all.

He picked it up and SWOOSH, it went into his pocket. He didn't even think anything about it at first. His day was gonna take a huge turn, but he didn't know that yet.

Me and Jasper get the creepy crayon and ask it “ will you leave us alone?” If it doesn’t leave us we throw it in the ocean.

Creepy Crayon and Elliot's Adventure

When Elliot Pelican got to her house, she took out the crayon and put it on her desk. It was late so she decided to go to sleep. As she did, the creepy crayon gave a mischievous stare and her pet crab, Clippers was the only one to notice.

When they got there the instructor greeted Elliot. “There you are... we’ve been waiting for you!” “Sorry,” said Elliot, a little sheepishly. “Anyway let's begin,” said the instructor.

Elliot Pelican walked to the corner where there was a nearby colour factory. Elliot snuck in and found a large machine. He saw an assembly line with a bunch of green crayons. He placed the purple crayon on the conveyor belt and darted out of the factory. He flew away in pure excitement thinking this would all end. 

The crayon pieces all joined together to form a giant rainbow crayon! With an explosion following, they all merged together. They began flying and then... BOOM! A blue explosion! 

Earlier that day, Clippers had decided to sneak into Elliot Pelican's backpack because he had always known that the creepy crayon would strike back. Clippers somehow knew that today was the day!!! At that exact moment, Clippers jumped out of Elliot Pelican's backpack!!! Clippers and the creepy crayon engaged in an epic battle! 

The creators of this version of Creepy Crayon with a Twist are Iyla &amp; Ida. We created this story together, even though we were supposed to work individually. We just had so many ideas that we wanted to do together and even though we had doubts along the way, we made something awesome and are so proud of what we've done!      

This story took us about 2 months which was much longer than everyone else, but all that aside we are happy with our creation. 

The next day Elliot woke up and almost fell down. There on his desk, was a picture of him failing his LIFE! “How… how?” Elliot thought “THIS THING IS CURSED!!! I NEED TO GET RID OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!” 

Elliot Pelican had another idea. She stomped on the creepy crayon and it crumbled to bits. Elliot Pelican picked up the remains of the crayon and threw them in the ocean. She ran home and quickly got ready for school, feeling much better. But Clippers still had a bad feeling that it wasn't the last of this creepy crayon. 

Elliot ran out of his bedroom over to his friend Jasper's house. Elliot thought he would have some good advice for him because Jasper had dealt with a creepy crayon before. He barged into his friend's house and woke him up. A confused Jasper, listened closely to Elliot's story. He was terrified to hear that the creepy crayon was back! Jasper thought for a while and then gave Elliot the plan he needed to get rid of the creepy crayon. But, the creepy crayon was always one step ahead of everything and everyone! 

When Elliot was in bed the creepy crayon decided he would go to the extracurricular activity! He had heard Elliot and Elliot's mom talking about it! After school Eliott headed off toward Pelican Basics, his after school activity. Elliot sighed, this was definitely NOT his favourite part of the day.

All of a sudden, Elliot thought to himself... wait I'm outside... I can just fly away. He waited for the perfect moment when nobody was looking and then he did it! It was...

In this story try to find the pelican on each page! It looks like this:

Then, he went to the blender, got hot water and put the pieces of the crayon and blended them together! Then, he took the DISGUSTING mush and poured it in the toilet! “Aughhhh!”  thought the creepy crayon as Elliot flushed him down the toilet!

Elliot tried to snap all of the crayons in half, but with his soft wings, they didn't break. But then the unbelievable happened...he was shocked and horrified!

“No, no, no, no, NOOOOOO,” thought the creepy crayon. “It can't happen again!” He quickly scribbled:

"YOU SHOULD USE ME FOR EVERYTHING BECAUSE I'M THE BEST AT EVERYTHING!" Elliot's stomach dropped and mumbled in a scared voice, "Did that crayon just speak?¨ Elliot started to get scared, but when the crayon said nothing else, he continued with his day. He must have been hearing things. At that moment, he remembered he had his fishing test TODAY! He felt like he was going to faint.

Did you find the pelican that was different from all the others? If you didn't, go back and try to find it! Also, if you want to, you can count how many crayons were in this book and then count all the different characters. I hid a star somewhere in this book. Good luck finding it!

Her pet crab knew something was up with that crayon. When she got to school she sat at her desk and pulled the creepy crayon out of her pencil case. She started to write her answers to the test, but instead of writing the answer she was going to write, the creepy crayon wrote for her! Elliot Pelican was so scared she started to shake. She looked at her feet and they were shaking too.

Silvio loves to play video games, read books and he likes to play with his friends. He likes to play games on Scratch and he also likes to draw.

“Ok where are the cookies?” Jasper asked. “They're up in the cupboard. My mom made them yesterday.” Elliot said. “Okay, do you have icing for the evil smiles?” Jasper asked. “Oh…let me check,” said Elliot. The friends rushed downstairs, checking all the cabinets. “AHA” Jasper yelled. “Boys, please quiet down,” Elliot’s mom called from upstairs. “Sorry mom!” Elliot yelled. “I found the icing!” Jasper whispered excitedly. “Great!” Elliot whispered back. “Mom! Jasper and I are going to put some icing on some of the cookies,” Elliot shouted to his mom. “Okay,” she replied.

We began by brainstorming ideas in a graphic organizer. It was amazing to see all the grade 4 students engaged in a creative writing planning session. A 50 pack of creepy crayons appeared on the field! His wings flapped INTENSELY at the sight of them. "What do I do?" screamed Elliot Pelican. He thought to himself, ugh! this is bad!

Elliot Pelican brought his favourite crayon with him to the beach because Elliot loved to go on trips, especially to the beach. When they got to the beach, they were both playing tag when his crayon saw something in the water and went running towards it. It was taking a long time so Elliot started to get worried. He went to take a closer look and realized the crayon was lost in the water! “OH NO!” he yelled. Elliot looked, and looked but couldn't  find him. He even called other people to help! 

I put a voice message on every single page (not the pictures) and if I put a voice message somewhere where I should not have you can delete it. - Xavier

The next day everyone went on a trip to the art gallery. Before the trip Elliot checked his backpack and there was the creepy crayon! “Oh no!” thought Eliott but he couldn’t do anything because the bus was peeling out of the driveway! As they went through the gallery they saw SO much cool art! 

Elliot ate breakfast really quickly. As soon as he was done, he called Jasper to come over to his house. When his friend came through the door, Elliot told him to come straight into his room. Then they made a plan.

The Unexpected Adventures With Creepy Crayon and Elliot

He told himself to calm down. He could ask Jasper for advice later on how to defeat the creepy crayon! Feeling better, he took out the crayon and put it in his desk. He was still curious why it was just sitting on the beach. He didn't have anything else to write with so he had to use the creepy crayon... what a coincidence!

Her stomach again had a strange feeling, but this time it was like butterflies in her stomach and she couldn’t stop smiling! But in the back of her mind there was this little worry that she might accidentally pick up the crayon and it would do it for her. She wanted it to be her work so that she could actually feel proud! The day arrived, the room was full of pelicans and seagulls. Her parents were sitting in the front row. As she entered the auditorium, she saw the gigantic stage. She was nervous, but excited as she walked up to read her poem. Just as she was about to start, the crayon hopped onto the podium all by itself. Elliot ignored him. The crayon flipped her paper over and scribbled, “Don't ignore me. I was the one who helped you before. You need me!” Elliot was very scared, but she started reading her poem. Just as she would start, the crayon would flip the paper over.

“Let’s get 4 cookies. No wait, 5 just in case,” Jasper said. Jasper and Elliot finished icing the cookies and made a trail up to Elliot’s bedroom door. Then they had to do a thing they hated a lot…wait. After, 15 minutes the friends heard a very faint noise from outside the door. watched the creepy crayon walk in. He saw the challenge and started to draw a pig. “Yes!” Elliot whispered to Jasper. After the Creepy Crayon drew the pig it admired its work.

So, when the time came around, he began the fishing test. All his friends were using different colors, so he wanted to use a different color. Although he only had a pencil then he realized he still had the purple crayon. Nervously, he dug in his pocket and pulled out the creepy crayon. The crayon knew it was his time to shine! 

The Creepy Crayon: A Tale of Two Crayons

Elliot Pelican finds a crayon. He soon learns that it cannot be trusted. He seems to be trying to get Elliot in trouble at school. Will they believe Elliot or will the creepy crayon win?

"...the creepy crayon's spirit?!" the crayons finished his sentence fearfully. "Yep, it's me!" the crayon's spirit said in a deep, dark voice. Elliot felt like flapping! 

“Hey you! Are you going to fail again?!” yelled Bark, the bully at Pelican Basics. “Ya!” shouted the other kids. Elliot just smiled. This was a day that Bark would NEVER forget Elliot thought.

The art oddly changed the crayon. He no longer had the desire to over help people. HOWEVER, he could still help Elliot. When they got back to class, it was time for Art. The creepy crayon wrote: I’m sorry I was mean. I would love to do art with you and I can help you get rid of your bullying problem! Elliot whispered, “Really?" "Yes," wrote the crayon. “Okay,” Elliot said in a low whisper. 

We read The Creepy Crayon by Aaron Reynolds &amp; Illustrated by Peter Brown to our Grade 4 students. It is the third book in the series (Creepy Carrots &amp; Creepy Pair of Underwear). We love how it ended with a new character Elliot Pelican spotting the crayon. Students were challenged to continue the story with this new character.

Nolan likes playing online games with his friends, coding and collecting Pokemon cards! He lives in Toronto, Canada and loved drawing the pictures for this book. It was a fun challenge trying to draw on the computer!

Elliot Pelican was coming home from school when she spotted something on the ground. It was purple. Pointy. And perfect. And somehow...it looked happy to see her. She picked up the crayon, slipped it in her pocket and took it home.

When Elliot saw the note his heart stopped and then started beating really fast. He dialed Jasper’s phone number as fast as he could. “Hello? Jasper…” Elliot told Jasper everything. “Hmm….try what I did” Jasper said. Then he came over to Elliot’s house. They tried flushing the creepy crayon down the toilet. Jasper said, “The creepy crayon is gone. Don’t worry!” “Ok….” Elliot said. Then Jasper went to his own house. “Elliot dinner time!” His dad called up.

He quickly arrived at flying school. His first class was swimming and he dove into the water, forgetting that he had the crayon in his feather pocket. It floated to the top of the water and turned the water around him purple! Elliot's teacher Mrs. Miller said, "No crayons in the water or you will get detention till 4pm." Elliot grabbed the crayon and threw it as far away as he could.

Then she looked back and saw that the creepy crayon had  completed the test with all the answers all written in purple crayon!!! 

It was finally over! The creepy crayon was gone for good and it was all thanks to Clippers the crab. 

Bark saw it and quickly dove for it and he got a mouth full of plastic. “Ewwww,'' he said! Suddenly he spied a paper and the creepy crayon. The creepy crayon started to write: I AM ELLIOT’S FRIEND. DON'T BULLY HIM!!!!!  “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” screamed Bark as he fled the water, jumped ashore and ran home! The only weird thing is that Bark the bully NEVER returned to Pelican Basics!

Next, he tried melting the crayon. “This is definitely going to work,” Elliot said. But unfortunately it didn’t work. “WHAT? NO WAY!” Elliot said.

Elliot Pelican lived on a beach. He was an ordinary looking pelican. One day he was flying near a beach then landed and saw a purple crayon. It was pointy, purple, and perfect!

“Ahhh!” screamed Elliot and grabbed the creepy crayon. He took it to the garage, grabbed a hammer and smashed and mashed the creepy crayon into a hundred pieces! 

Then it realized what it just drew. “Got you!” Elliot and Jasper taunted. Then the creepy crayon scribbled away all over the floor and left marks, so Elliot and Jasper had to clean that up. That night they had a sleepover and both fell asleep feeling happy. The next morning Elliot and Jasper looked up at the ceiling and saw a zombie drawing in purple. “AHHHHHH!'' yelled Elliot and Jasper. Once again, his mom had to ask them to quiet down. “Sorry,” said Jasper. 

After this whole thing that happened, surprisingly the creepy crayon and Elliot became best friends and did art together. They even sold spectacular artwork at the beach on Saturdays! 

The creepy crayon jumped and landed tip first attempting to jab Clippers. Luckily, Clippers dodged the crayon. In response, he tried to claw the creepy crayon in half, but  kept missing. The creepy crayon took one final jump at Clippers! Right when he was in mid air, Clippers opened his mouth and swallowed the creepy crayon whole! 

“I’m home mom!” Elliot shouted, “What's for dinner?” “Salmon sushi!” his mom replied from the kitchen. “How was your day?” “Fine,” he said, but really Elliot had got teased AND bullied AGAIN. “I’m going upstairs” he said in a half groan so his mom wouldn’t hear.

The crayons had become nice! They said, "We will never EVER mess with people again." Just when he thought it was all over, a strange figure appeared. Elliot whispered, "Is that…

He flew away, but he was not an experienced flier. So 32 seconds after he took flight, he started to lose energy and began to fall. Thankfully, he had lost the creepy crayons by that time.

Elliot gasped! It reminded him of the stories his friend Jasper had told him about his creepy pair of underwear and a creepy carrot! He wanted to go talk to him, but he didn't have time. He had to go to his school and he was almost late!

He tried to break the crayons with his beak. Success! Just when he thought it was over, something he would never have dreamed of happening, happened. It was a monstrosity! It was BAD!

When he got to school, Elliot felt something move in his backpack so he checked it. When he opened the backpack the crayon stopped moving, but he noticed that the crayon had written, "Let's be friends." The crayon smiled up at him and looked very happy to see him.

It was a normal day at water school. Elliot Pelican's fishing teacher said, "We are having a fishing test in one week." Elliot had been going to the island after school for extra practise hoping it would help him pass fishing class. He had been struggling and did not want to have to repeat it. As he was walking to class, he looked down. He saw a perfect, pointy, purple crayon and it looked happy to see him. Elliot put the crayon in his pocket and kept studying.

" today's a day He'll NEVER forget!"

One day Elliot Duck went out to the lake and he stood over the water and there he saw it...... Purple… Pointy and… PERFECT! The crayon said, “Hi there!” Elliot screamed, “Y-you can talk?!” “Yes I can,” said the crayon. The crayon proposed a trade… if Elliot was a friend to the crayon, the crayon would do Elliot's work! Elliot responded right away, YES! A noticeably BIG smile appeared on the crayon's face.

Eventually, Elliot went downstairs to eat dinner and then came up again to go to bed. When Elliot was asleep the creepy crayon decided he wanted to go to school with Elliot and rolled into his backpack!

The next day, he went to water school and forgot to take the purple crayon out of his pocket. He went about his daily routine, but as the day went on, the crayon got angrier. Elliot Pelican never used him during his classes. The crayon knew he could help Elliot. Suddenly the crayon yelled, ¨DON’T YOU DARE IGNORE ME!"

Elliot Pelican picked up the crayon and looked at it with a puzzled face wondering why there was a crayon in the middle of the beach. He put it in his pocket and hurried home for dinner. 

He soon went into depression and stopped eating. He wouldn’t even get out of bed. All he could think of was the crayon. Purple, Pointy and the Perfect friend. He soon got sick and went into a coma. They said he died of a broken heart and for the crayon.

Elliot flew to his island school where he was attending Flight School to become an expert flier. He hid the crayon at the edge of the beach and planned to go back and get it later. A big grin appeared on the crayon’s face when Elliot Pelican took him out of his pouch, but his face started to drop when he realized he was going to be left behind. 

Elliot went to a school called Flapping Wings PS. He was not excited because today he had flying class which was his least favourite class.

The next morning when Elliot Pelican woke up, she realized that she had completely forgotten to study for her math test last night!!! When she looked at her clock it was 9:00 am already!!! “Oh no, I'm late for school!!!" Without knowing what she was doing, she slipped the creepy crayon into her backpack. Then she left for school, not giving the crayon another thought.

Elliot woke up to the sound of his Mom yelling, “get up, it’s time for school!” He rolled out of bed and he was shocked to see that his project was ruined. Standing beside the easel was the creepy crayon. “Oh no!” Elliot yelled. “What happened to my project?! My life is ruined!!”

On the floor, in the corner of the room was the creepy crayon. The creepy crayon wrote GOT YOU!!!!. Then the creepy crayon scribbled away. They had to clean that up too. “Ugh… I hate cleaning up these messes,” said Elliot. “Yeah.. we have to get rid of that creepy crayon” Jasper said. “You can go home and I will keep thinking of ideas” Elliot said. “Okay, bye Elliot” said Jasper. “Bye!” he replied.

The next day, he had fishing class. Elliot wasn’t good at fishing and he was scared because they were having a test. He had studied hard, but still failed the practice test, so he wasn't sure how he would do on the real one. He sat down on the sand feeling sad. He looked to his right and saw the crayon. The crayon looked happy to see him. Elliot was so mad. He put the crayon in a glass bottle and threw it in the ocean. He was happy the crayon was gone.

Elliot grabbed the creepy crayon and said, “If you don’t leave us alone, Jasper and I will throw you in the ocean!” Then the creepy crayon replied by writing: Elliot yelled to his mother upstairs. “Mom, we are going to play outside.” “Okay!” his mom replied. When they got to the beach, Elliot stretched his wing way back and threw the creepy crayon into the ocean. “BYE!” the friends yelled! “I hope it will never come back again,” Jasper said. After that day, they never EVER saw the creepy crayon again.

Elliot opened his bedroom door and closed it behind him. He took the creepy crayon out, got a piece of paper and started to draw. Wow this kid’s good, the creepy crayon thought. "Hmm… how am I going to help him?" he pondered.

Elliot Pelican spotted the crayon in the sand on the beach. His eyes were wide open and he wondered why there was a purple crayon on the beach? A little confused, he bent down and opened his mouth slightly to scoop the crayon up into his pouch.

Elliot unknowingly gets stuck with the creepy crayon. He calls on his friend Jasper to help. They devise a sneaky plan to get rid of the creepy crayon. It turns out to be harder than expected. Will they ever get rid of this creepy crayon?

While he was trying to fall asleep, Elliot remembered he had an art project due tomorrow. So he got up and went over to his easel and started painting a planet. As he worked, he got sleepier and sleepier and then fell asleep.

After Elliot's session at Pelican Basics, the creepy crayon had found out that there was NOTHING he could do to help Elliot there either and he was infuriated! 

Elliot didn't have any friends. He always felt like the odd duck out, but then he saw this crayon and felt special. He loved the color purple! This must be his lucky charm. The next day, he slept through his alarm. He had been practicing late the night before for the upcoming spelling bee.

Let the Book Launch Readings Begin...

One thing Elliot didn’t know about the perfect, pointy crayon was that it was… the creepy crayon! Jasper rabbit told Elliot all about the time he had the creepy crayon. The crayon got really mad and followed him home. When Elliot walked into his room to do his virtual school homework, he saw the creepy crayon had written a note on the computer screen:  

Elliot Pelican was wandering on the beach before school when he found a crayon beside the ocean. Purple, pointy and perfect. The crayon seemed happy to meet him. Down the beach in a wooden house, he heard his mother yelling, "Elliot! I’m going to leave without you! It’s time for school." Elliot hid the purple crayon in his feather pocket and flew to meet his mom.

But then something unbelievable happened! Elliot was shocked! He had never ever seen anything like this. It was like his worst nightmare. No, it was his worst nightmare! it was worse than going to flying class...his least favourite class!

The crayon and Elliot loved each other! They were more than best friends, they treated each other like brothers. However, Elliot's peers made fun of him because he would TALK to the crayon in the bathroom.

When Elliot got home, he checked to make sure there was no his house for more purple messages. Luckily, there were none. Thinking that the

Every bird was looking at Elliot Pelican, but no one else saw the creepy crayons. He tried yelling, but nobody saw what he saw.

Elliot was so mad that she had to do her homework. She hated social studies. She wondered why she had to memorize the whole world when she only flew in North America. She opened her backpack and pulled out this very thick heavy book and her Social Studies notebook. She tried to grab a pencil, but accidentally picked up the purple crayon and started to write in her notebook. She grabbed the very heavy book and turned to page 452. It showed her South America. After she read it, she started to answer the questions in her notebook, but got frustrated and quit. She decided to get ready for bed. It felt like a normal night, but as she tried to go to sleep she heard a lot of racket. It sounded like books falling, pencils being sharpened and paper being written on…almost like someone was trying to study! She crawled into the closet and found a tiny box with ear plugs and quickly fell asleep.

The next day Elliot went to school where his teacher welcomed him into the class. Elliot sat down at his seat. “Ahhhh…” he sighed as he reached for his pencil case. Instead of a pencil,  he grabbed the crayon instead. “Weird” Elliot said to himself and started to write. But the creepy crayon sensed something was NOT right, he didn’t feel like he was helping! This was because Elliot already knew all the answers! 

At school, everyone was learning how to catch fish and would wait for their turn. When it was Elliot Pelican’s turn,  she dove into the water and caught a fish... or so she thought. When she got to the surface and opened her mouth, out came THE CREEPY CRAYON!!! Elliot Pelican couldn't believe her eyes. She was done with this STUPID CRAYON!!!

Currently living in New Zealand! 🇳🇿 We are so happy that she was able to finish the project remotely after she moved and still be part of the celebrations! 

The crayon felt bad. First Jasper didn’t want him and now Elliot really liked him, but everyone at school was making his life a living nightmare! I need to stop taking over, the crayon thought to himself.

The next day when she got to school there was a BIG surprise Social Studies test! She went to pick up a pencil, but instead grabbed the purple crayon again. She thought to herself, that’s pretty weird, but began to start writing her test.  Elliot expected to know nothing, but instead the test was easy. Elliot was very confused buuuuut, she was also very happy because now she wouldn't fail her test. When she got home her parents were so proud of her. In that moment, Elliot had no idea how guilty she was going to feel in a short little while. A few days later, Elliot got this bad stomach ache. She thought maybe she was sick, but the feeling wouldn’t go away no matter how much medicine her parents gave her. She realized it was something else….it was actually guilt. Her teacher had given her all A+’s and A’s for work that wasn’t hers. She knew that the poetry competition was coming up and she had worked on it for WEEKS!!!!!!!! This was her chance to redeem herself.

After dinner, he went to his bedroom. He put his hand in his pocket, but the crayon was gone! He searched his whole room and then saw it on the floor. The crayon was smiling up at him. Elliot was startled and began to shake. He quickly threw the crayon across the room.

In the distance he heard a loud bang. The creepy crayons got a ding in their heads and they separated into pieces. Elliot flew back to take a closer look and noticed that the crayons were smiling.

Elliot grabbed it and broke it in half and stepped on it. The crayon miraculously merged together again with some wet sand and seashells from the beach. Elliot was so frustrated that she threw him in a big, dusty old treasure chest that had a big lock on it. Elliot decided it would be better to keep an eye on this creepy crayon and brought the locked box home. Relieved, Elliot went to bed. A big smile spread across her face until……..she heard the chest moving around. Elliot realized she might just have to wear ear plugs for the rest of her life, but she was okay with that!
