Hats on wall Computer on desk Dim shadow casting light Wap Wap Wap Foam swords clashing Who is winning Thunk thunk thunk Shields block We were entranced Anticipating our enemy's Next move

Rolls It was the evening of the 11th. I was just rolling around and thinking big until that bell rang. All these fairies came flying in. The first fairy sat on me. I could not breathe. Why do you sit on me? You throw me around like silly putty. You sit on me like a bag of bricks. What did I do to you? Is it too much to ask for respect? Most of all I hate people's sweaty backs! Don't even think of rolling my wheels. Last but not least, don't push, not never not ever.

Orange ! Orange is as bright as the sun. Orange is the tangy fruity taste in my mouth. Orange is the peach farm I see in my dreams. Orange is the waves washing up on the beach. Orange is the scared feeling when I'm on a roller coaster. Orange is my sour orange chicken. Orange is the rainforest that pops in my head. Orange is the happy exciting feeling I feel. Orange is sweet. Orange is me!

Cyan is an excellent student of Southfield Christian Middle School. In her spare time she loves to read and write, but her passion is art. She loves to draw and anything else art related. Look out for her next book coming out soon!

Why when you write with me Do you grip so tightly? I feel like I'm going to burst! Some days you write with me so much, I have very little lead left. Whenever you're in a writing mode, Why must you write so fast? It's like being a race car driver's wheels! Thank you for refilling me when I'm low on lead, I wouldn't want to be those other pencils you throw out, right about now. But, must you always act scary when we've written 25 paragraphs, And you still want to write more? Why don't you use a pen? Copycats they are, but they have bolder lead... Dear School, Why are you so dull? Adverbs and verbs tear me apart. Subtraction and addition blind me. What did I ever do to you? Now don't even get me started on Social Studies. Social Studies, it's supposed to be about social things, but we're learning about dead people - never mind. Science isn't that bad but the outlines, really, they are starting to ruin my life. Last but not least you give me TESTS - the worst possible stress! It hurts very bad when you give me tests. Well that's all my thoughts so I guess this good bye. P.S. I don't really like you.

Backpack I'm so glad that you love me! But you make me go through so much! I would appreciate to not be so heavy, but to be a light backpack. Oh wait! My job is to carry heavy and large things. Hannah is a student and truly enjoys playing piano, singing, reading, and shopping. She loves nature, and summertime. Her poems emphasize some of the things she appreciates and loves.

Karen Bosch is the editor of this book. She is the K - 8 Technology teacher at Southfield Christian School in Southfield, Michigan USA. She worked with 6th grade students to use a variety of iPad apps to illustrate their poems. Each student built their own book chapter using the Book Creator app. Dropbox was used to transfer the chapters so they could be combined into one book.
