In 1938, with Lise on the run (she was Jewish), the two chemists published the end result of so many years of work: nuclear fission was revealed to the world.Meitner published shortly thereafter, from exile, the full explanatory model, but the Nobel Prize was awarded to Hahn alone, the completely forgetting about Lise.

In 1960, he received a scholarship and began his studies at Vassar University in the United States, in Poughkeepsie, New York. ... In the same year, she began studying physics at Harvard University, being the only woman of the year at that time.
