Hi everyone...welcome to my virtual PE lesson. I am very excited to teach you Games & Sports using short-handled implement (Badminton Racket). I will be using Choice Boards so that you will have more ownership and opportunities to develop and apply your skills based on your level of readiness and preferences. Stay safe but have fun!!



What are we learning in PE today?
(1) To send and receive shuttle over the net using underhand and overhead movement pattern
(2) To send the shuttle to unguarded space

Success Criteria
(1) Demonstrate consistency in the basic skills of high/low serve and overhead serve.
(2) Demonstrate the necessary movement skills to move effectively on the badminton court (eg lunging, side step, ready position, jumping).
(3) Demonstrate effective spatial awareness by playing the shuttle in to an open area of the opponent's court.

Side Lunges while balancing Shuttlecock
Perform a side lunge to the right and back to ready position. Perform a side lunge to the left and back to ready position. Balance a shuttlecock at all time while performing the lunges.

Alternate Leg Dynamic Lunges while Balancing Shuttlecock
Perform a right leg forward lune and back while balancing a shuttlecock on head. Perform a left leg forward lunge and back while balancing a shuttlecock on head.

4 Point Agility Footwork
Mark out a square and position in the centre.
Move and lunge to touch the cones
Move and lunge to touch the cones

Single Leg Balance - Pick and Place Shuttlecock
Balance on one leg. Bend forward to pick up a shuttlecock and place it behind the body. Repeat for the other shuttlecock
