Sept/Oct/Nov. 2018/19
Everything over October 2018:
October was a very busy month for the TYs, they have been away at least twice a week on trips and some also went to football games or basketball games to do a report and even take a few photos.
On the 4th of October:
Our TYs went to a “Mental Health Day” in Donegal Town along with several other schools to hear a talk from people who have had a rough experience with their mental health but got through it. We also had a fitness workshop, and even a cooking demonstration to show us that eating can actually be very easy and taste just as good.
On the 5th October 2018;
Along with some of the leaving cert class, the TYs joined them to an open day at NUI Galway to have a look around the college, and see their facilities, have a look atcourses to choose from and even listen to a few lectures to help you get an inside to see what really happens in some courses, how many points you need and how long the course could take.

Ms. Kenny was kind enough to invite the TYs and anyone who took part in the musical production of "All Shook Up" last year, to Derry to go and see “Evita” written by none other than Andrew Lloyd Webber. This was such an amazing experience because it’s not every day you get the chance to see a west end musical especially when they’re so close to home!
On the 16th October 2018;
A day to remember! We were lucky enough to go to the Google HQ in Dublin. This was an amazing experience we learned so much for example: What it takes to get a job at Google, a bit about google maps and all the other roles people have in Google.

On the 17th October 2018:
The whole TY class went to Letterkenny for an enterprise day. During the day we had to create a product we would like to produce and sell in the future. There was 24 teams in total taking part, 2 of which were from St. Catherine’s. Team 1 made an app that has every school book you need on it, so that there will be no need for big heavy books and makes doing homework easier, BUT team 2 make a product called the “Sip And Snack”, this product was to make life easier, especially when you’re at the cinema or football game... So the product, is a cup which has a dish on top and a straw going from the cup up through the dish. Team 2 came out on top not only making the top 3 out of 24 groups……… they actually came in 1st place and won the best product of the day! Well done guys!!
