The Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty is a neoclassical sculpture, a huge monument that rises at the port of New York on Ellis Island.
It was designed by Frederick Auguste Bartholdir. Gustav Eifel, the constructor of the Eiffel Tower, designed the interior supporting structure. It represents the Roman goddess of liberty, Libertas, holding a torch in her right hand and a legal book in the other, on which the date of signature of the American Declaration of Independence is inscribed.

Scary Lucy
The leering, slightly demonic-looking sculpture of Lucille Ball has terrorized residents of Ball’s hometown in Celoron, New York, since 2009, when the local sculptor and “I Love Lucy” fan Dave Poulin erected the life-sized bronze in Lucille Ball Memorial Park.

Mayor Scott Schrecengost and other local residents have recently campaigned to have Poulin redo the frightening statue.
