One of the beliefs is that St. Patrick resurrected dead people. Another - that he had preached a sermon from one hill, and with it had driven all snakes from Ireland, where snakes were gone and never had. Traditionally, on this day, people who celebrate the feast dress completely green, eat only green foods, and drink the famous green beer. The Irish festivals, of course, can not go without the leprechauns - the little mysterious men of Irish folklore. This year two towns will try to set a Guinness record for the most leprechauns in one place.

After this happening, on the first day of the pig, rat and horse years, people had behaved prudently, and also the 15th of January was called 'Ohgiil'  and offered sacrifice to heaven this day. Also the origins of Daeboreum can be recognized by some customs listed in books, such as Samguk-sagi and Silla-bongi, describing of lantern lighting. The lantern lighting custom in Daeboreum was inherited constantly- Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, the book of Taejong, 13th year has the record about the same custom clearly.

Nestinarstvo: fire-dancing ritual in Bulgari village

The ancient Bulgarian ritual Nestinarstvo is held to ensure the well-being and fertility of the village Bulgari in south-east Bulgaria. The ritual is famous with its unique barefoot dances on fire performed by nestinari who inherited the right to perform the fire-dance. The whole ritual lasts all day long on 3th of June and the festival culminates in a fire-dance in the evening as the highest form of veneration of the Saints.

Daeboreum (literally "Great Full Moon") is a Korean holiday that celebrates the first full moon of the new year of the lunar Korean calendar which is the Korean version of the First Full Moon Festival. This holiday is accompanied by many traditions.The record about the origin of Daeboreum is recorded in the book Samguk-yusa, where it says that a crow led the 21st King of Silla, Soji to shoot the geomungo ( a Korean instrument) case, which was actually where a monk and the royal concubine were committing adultery.

Those attending the festival can eat pancakes, buy maple syrup and maple toffee and learn about how maple syrup is made.

Visitors can also go on a train ride, take part in a pancake flipping contest and watch live music performances. It’s guaranteed to be a great day for those with a sweet tooth!

Grandma March Day is a holiday celebrated in Bulgaria, on March 1st. Martenitsas, usually in the form of a wrist band, small yarn dolls, or tassels, are created by combining red and white colored threads and are worn on that day and throughout March. They are worn until a stork or a blossoming tree is seen, symbolizing the coming of spring, warmer weather, and well being. Once the stork or blooming tree appears the Martenitsa is taken off and hung on a tree. It is common in the spring to see trees festooned in Martenitsas. In Bulgarian folklore the name Baba Marta evokes a grumpy old lady whose mood swings very rapidly. The common belief is that by wearing the red and white colors of the Martenitsa, people ask Baba Marta for mercy.

The Falles is a traditional celebration held in commemoration of Saint Joseph in the city of Valencia, Spain. The term Falles refers to both the celebration and the monuments burnt during the celebration. A number of towns in the Valencian Community have similar celebrations inspired by the original Falles de València celebration. The Falles festival was added to UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage of humanity list on 30 November 2016. Each neighbourhood of the city has an organised group of people, the Casal faller, that works all year long holding fundraising parties and dinners, usually featuring the noted dish, paella, a specialty of the region. Each casal faller produces a construction known as a falla which is eventually burnt. A casal faller is also known as a comissió fallera and currently there are approximately 400 registered in Valencia.

Bulgarian Culture and Traditions

Kukeri&nbsp;are elaborately costumed Bulgarian men, and sometimes women, who perform traditional rituals intended to scare away evil spirits. Closely related traditions are found throughout the Balkans and Greece (including Romania and the Pontus).

Paola

The costumes cover most of the body and include decorated wooden masks of animals (sometimes double-faced) and large bells attached to the belt. Around New Year and before Lent, the kukeri walk and dance through villages to scare away evil spirits with their costumes and the sound of their bells. They are also believed to provide a good harvest, health, and happiness to the village during the year.

March 17 marks St. Patrick's Day, a patron of the Irish. Today, the Irish soul celebrates.Traditionally celebrations on the occasion of the holiday are celebrated one week. Concerts are being performed and, most importantly, drinking fine whiskeys and drinking a lot of beer. The legends tell that the patron of Ireland, St. Patrick, was born in Bannen, Wales, approximately in 385. It was given the name Maywin. At that age he was kidnapped and sold into slavery by a group of Irish who attacked his village. Patrick traveled frequently across Ireland and beyond, and traveled around many places later baptized on it. He set up schools and churches to help him preach Christianity in Ireland. He died on March 17, 461. Since then, this date has been celebrated as St. Patrick's Day.

In 2002, Sziget branched out to&nbsp;Transylvania&nbsp;when its organisers co-created a new annual festival there titledFelsziget Fesztival&nbsp;(Romanian:&nbsp;Festivalul Peninsula) that soon became the largest of its kind in&nbsp;Romania.&nbsp;In 2007, the organisers co-created&nbsp;Balaton Sound, an&nbsp;electronic music&nbsp;festival held on the southern bank of&nbsp;Lake Balaton&nbsp;that quickly gained popularity.

The position of Lazarus Saturday is summed up in the first sticheron chanted at vespers on Friday. Sziget Festival

The&nbsp;Sziget Festival is one of the largest&nbsp;music&nbsp;and&nbsp;cultural<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_festival"> </a>festivals&nbsp;in&nbsp;Europe. It is held every August in northern&nbsp;Budapest, Hungary, on&nbsp;Obudai-sziget&nbsp;("Old Buda Island"), a leafy 108-hectare&nbsp;island on the&nbsp;Danube. More than 1,000 performances take place each year. The week-long festival has grown from a relatively low-profile student event in 1993 to become one of the prominent European&nbsp;rock festivals, with about half of all visitors coming from outside Hungary, especially from Western Europe.&nbsp;It also has a dedicated "party train" service (with resident DJs) that transports festival-goers from all over Europe.&nbsp;The second event (1994), labelled&nbsp;Eurowoodstock, was headlined by performers from the original&nbsp;Woodstock&nbsp;festival. By 1997, total attendance surpassed the 250,000 mark, reaching an all-time peak in 2016 with 496,000 visitors from 95 countries (the daily capacity having been raised to 90,000).&nbsp;

The kukeri traditionally visit peoples' houses at night so that "the sun would not catch them on the road."After parading around the village they usually gather at the village square to dance wildly and amuse the people. Kukeri rituals vary by region but remain largely the same in essence.

The Rose Festival

The Rose Festival in Kazanlak is the first in Bulgaria and has over 115 years of tradition. The first Kazanlak people in 1903 organized a celebration in honor of the rose, the flowers and the fertility, the beauty and the thanksgiving for the livelihood of the Rose Valley. Today, the holiday has preserved the most essential part of the ancient rituals, recreating the joy of the coming rose-rose and the hospitality of the hard-working Kazanlak people.

Chinese New Year

The biggest holiday, with dragons, fireworks, symbolic clothing, flowers, lanterns, and celebration is China's most important and significant day of the year. Also known as the Spring Festival, Chinese New Year celebrations traditionally run from Chinese New Year's Eve, the last day of the last month of the Chinese calendar, to the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first month, making the festival the longest in the Chinese calendar!

Lazarus Saturday in the Eastern Orthodox Church and Oriental Orthodoxy is the day before Palm Sunday to which it is liturgically linked. It celebrates the raising of Lazarus of Bethany, the narrative of which is found in the Gospel of John. Lazarus Saturday and Palm Sunday together hold a unique position in the church year, as days of joy and triumph interposed between the penitence of Great Lent and the mourning of Holy Week. During the preceding week the propers in the Lenten Triodion track the sickness and then the death of Lazarus, and Christ's journey from beyond Jordan to Bethany. This week is referred to as the "Week of Palms" or the "Flowery Week.

The House of Humor and Satire

The House of Humor and Satire is a museum in Gabrovo with national and world significance. It was created on the "fake" April 1 (International Funny Day) in 1972 and is a proud heir to local folk humor and fun carnival traditions in the Bulgarian capital of humor. The author of the motto of the Museum  "The world has survived because it has laughed" is Radoy Ralin. Its building is located in the central part of the city. Designed by the architect Karl Kandulkov on the foundations of an old leather factory of Brothers Kalpazanovi.

The Rose Festival is held in the first week of June, with the custom on the first Friday is the official celebration of the city - the Day of Kazanlak, when crowning the newly elected Queen Rose and beginning the culminating three days celebrations. The Saturdays and Sundays are full of festive events, such as the official rituals of Rosenberk and Rosaretene on Sunday morning and the colorful Carnival procession of Kazanlak on Sunday lunch, which is the largest street carnival in Bulgaria.
