The European Parliament: makes laws, represents citizens of countries-members

The Council of the European Union: It discusses main issues and decides on new laws

The European Commission: The European Commission promotes the general interest of the European Union.
Members: There is a team of Commissioners, 1 from each EU country.
The European Council: The EU institution that defines the general political direction and priorities of the European Union.
