Beautiful palm trees sway in the wind like a kite flying gracefully when there is a calm breeze. The scenery is sprouting with wildlife and different water bodies. Punta Cana has so much to offer you, and there is truly something for everybody. Here is everything you need to know about the action packed city of Punta Cana.

Location

Punta Cana is a district in the Dominican Republic. The Dominican Republic is an island located west of Puerto Rico and east of Cuba. Since it is on an island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, you would have to travel there by plane or boat. The island is close to the equator so the temperatures can get very warm, sometimes reaching over 95 degrees. This makes it a very popular place for vacations and honeymoons since the temperatures never usually drop below 65 degrees. It's location also allows many varieties of wildlife such as palm trees, lizards, iguanas, monkeys and much more wildlife that enjoy the warm, tropical environment that the Dominican Republic has to offer.

Tourist Attractions

There are many tourist attractions and things to do in Punta Cana. One of these things is snorkeling. When you go snorkeling, you get to see sights such as coral reefs, colorful fish, seashells and more. Another thing that you can try is swimming with dolphins. This is where you get put in a pool with tamed and friendly dolphins and you get to swim with them and pet them. There are also many great golf courses such as the Punta Espalda golf course, which they use for the PGA Champions tour, the most well known golfing event in America.

Food Options and Restaurants

There are many different food options within Punta Cana. They have multiple buffets with loads of food ranging from seafood, Chinese food, Mexican food and much more. There are also many fancy sit down restaurants that serve many different varieties of one type of food depending on where you go. You can also go to a kid friendly chain restaurant that is Disney character themed or even animal themed. There are many restaurants with decks so that you can witness the beautiful scenery that Punta Cana is known for.

There are many beaches located in Punta Cana, and there are also many activities that come with it. All of the beaches have shimmering turquoise water and soft, gentle sand. The two activities that are the most popular among visitors are beach volleyball and scuba diving. Scuba diving is an incredible excursion where you get to witness all of the beautiful sea life 30 feet below the surface. Going scuba diving makes you feel like a fish since you are able to breathe underwater for long periods of time. Beach volleyball is a great way to make new friends at the beach, but also mix in competition with it. It is a game for everyone since you don't have to be incredibly athletic to succeed in it. There are so many different things to do at the lovely beaches located in Punta Cana.
