Intro
In 2019 things to do usually consist of being on your phone which isn't very active. Sports and great ways to stay active. Sports can be played by any age and are a great way to get competitive with your friends. The object of the game is to dribble a ball down a court to shoot it and score in the opposing team's basket. There are also rules and positions to play. Basketball is a great sport to play.
Chapter 1-Rules
Basketball has many rules. One rule is that there can only be five people on the same team on the court at a time. You have to constantly be dribbling the ball when you are running or you will be called for a travel and it will be the other teams ball. You also have to dribble the ball with one hand or you will be called for a double dribble. You can also be called for a double dribble if you dribble the ball pick it up and dribble again. These are some basic rules to basketball.
Chapter 2- Positions
There are many different positions in the game of basketball. One position is point guard. The point guard has to bring the basketball past half court in less that ten seconds. This is probably the hardest position to play. There are also guards.Guards have to be good outside shooters and are usually second shortest from the point guard. There are also posts. Posts are normally the tallest people on the team.
Chapter 3-Scoring
There are three ways to score points in basketball. One way is just making a basket in front of the three point line. This is worth two points and is the easiest way to score. Another way to score points is making a three pointer. To do this you have to make a basket behind the three point line. This is worth three points. The last way to score is to make a foul shot. You can only shoot foul shots when you get fouled when you shot. You shoot two foul shots and each one is worth a point.
