Who was Medgar Evers?

Medgar Evers was a civil rights activist, and fought for his life in the war of discrimination, in which I truly believe deserves a stamp in honor of what he accomplished.

Medgar fought in the war as a soldier. He then boycotted against black people not being able to utilize gas station bathrooms and unable to attend certain colleges.

He also risked his life for the freedom of himself and the freedom of others.

As a soldier, Medgar fought in the battle of Normandy during World War II. He survived the war, coming back to his home to fight another war, this time against discrimination.

Medgar is in danger!

After Medgars great accomplishments against black discrimination, white people began to see him as a threat. Many angry people attempted to kill Medgar.

Finally, Medgar had drove home after a meeting with the civil rights workers, and was hit in the back with a bullet as he exited his car. Medgar crawled to his doorstep, where his wife Myrlie found him. Medgar had died 1 hour later, on June 12, 1963.

One man threw a molotov cocktail (a bottle filled with flammable liquid that bursts on impact, covering the area around with open flame.) at his carport.
Another man tried to hit Medgar with a car as he was leaving the NAACP office.

Finally, Medgar had drove home after a meeting with the civil rights workers, and was hit in the back with a bullet as he exited his car. Medgar crawled to his doorstep, where his wife Myrlie found him. Medgar had died 1 hour later, on June 12, 1963.

Conclusion

Medgar has contributed greatly to the fight against the discrimination of black people. After all his work he became a field officer, the first one in Mississippi. Medgar deserves a stamp, from fighting until his death, and to represent his great accomplishments.
