There are many ways to keep the ball up and going in a volleyball game. There are usually six players on the floor. Three in the front , three in the back and a maximum of three hits per side.  Points are made on every serve for the winning team of rally. If the ball hits the line of boundary, it is still in. It is illegal to catch, hold or throw the ball and a player cannot block or attack a serve from on or inside the 10 foot line.

Volleyball is a team sport where you try to hit the ball a number of times over the net trying to keep it off the floor.

Volleyball is played by two teams of six players on a court divided by a net. The game starts with a serve. You can do over hand or under hand. The object of the game is to send the ball over the net so that the other team cannot return the ball. Each team gets three hits to attempt to return the ball. If the ball has contact with the net or the floor, the other team would get the point.

There are many positions in volleyball. The main positions are the setter, the outside hitter,and the middle. The setters job is to place you're hands in a triangle shape above the head, then push the volleyball high into the air. The outside player is the one who hits and blocks the balls coming over the net. The middle blockers job is too stay in the middle of the court.

There are many places to play volleyball. You can play indoors like in a gym or a volleyball facility. You can also play outside like on a beach or just in you're backyard. You can rally play volleyball anywhere you would like.

In the winter of 1895, in Massachusetts, William G Morgan , a YMCA physical education director created a new game called ''mintonette'' a name from the game of badminton. It was usually played indoors by any number of players. The first volleyball net borrowed from tennis was not very high. The style of setting and spiking was demonstrated in 1916.
