Intro
Baseball consist of many factors that can potentially lead your team to victory.
Chapter 1 Basics/Uniforms
In baseball two opposing teams play a 9 inning game. A inning is when both teams get a chance to hit and field. An inning consist of 3 outs per team, you score when a runner touches all 4 bases with out being tagged out or having the player with the ball touch the base they are advancing to or the other team getting 3 outs. When batting you have 3 chances to hit the ball until you strike out. If you foul a ball it is a strike unless you are already at 2 strikes. a foul is when you hit the ball out of play. if the pitcher throws 4 balls out of the strike zone it is a walk and you take your base to first. In baseball you wear a hat, a jersey, pants, socks, and cleats.
Chapter 2 rules
In baseball there are many simple rules you need to follow. If you are tagged with the ball by the other team you are out. If you hit the ball and someone catches it in the air without touching the ground that is also a out. You have 3 swings to hit the ball or if you get walked which you can gain by getting hit by the pitch or get thrown 4 balls. When you are up to bat and hit the ball into play, you must touch all 4 bases to score a run. You can steal a base to advance after a pitch is thrown. Who ever has the most points at the end of the game wins.
Chapter 3- positions
In baseball there are many strategies to getting an out, one would be to play in a specific spot in the field. There are 9 positions you can choose from in baseball pitcher, catcher, 1st base, 2nd base, 3rd base, left field, center field, and right field. The pitcher has a specific place to pitch from called a mound, and attempts to strike the batter out. The catcher stands behind the plate and catches the pitches missed by the batter. 1st base covers first and receives ground balls. 2nd base covers second and receives ground balls, then is the cut off when the ball is hit to right field. The short stop receives ground balls, covers second base and is the cut off when the ball is hit to left field. Third base covers 3rd base and receives ground balls. Left, right and center field all receive ground balls and pop flys.
