Janet Collins is an African american dancer that was born in March, 7th 1917 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Then died on May 28th, 2003 in Fort Worth Texas.<br/> 

Also was the first African American that trained dancers in her generation and performed on TV.

She was also a choreographer, for the beauty of her dancing on Broadway.

For her dancing and teaching kids she wrote a book about her life and her dancing when she was young and growing up,<br/>

Three reasons why she should be on a stamp is 1. she was the first negro dancer, 2. thought kids dance while being the first negro teacher, 3. First Native that danced at the Met.
