Introduction
Maggie Walker was the first Women of any race to establish a bank and become president of it. The bank she became president of was the St. Luke Penny Saving bank. She dedicated her life to helping the African Community
Maggie Walker set an example for black women by being brave and establishing her own bank. She also became president of it and her bank was very successful. Walkers bank brought in children of all ages and encouraged them to save their money early in life, adults still used her bank.

Maggie played a major role in the organizational and commercial life of Richmond's African American Community. She encouraged the black community to use their economic power as an advantage and create an institution. Maggie was also a teacher at The Lancaster School helping children learn.

Maggie has dedicated her whole life to helping others. She first worked at a school as a teacher, then she established a bank and became president of it and lastly she has encouraged the black community to follow their dreams, be brave and be confident.
Conclusion
Maggie Walker accomplished many things in life and broke traditional gender and discrimination laws, by becoming the president of her own bank.
