CHAPTER 1
When or if you ever break a bone, it will hurt. How badly depends on your pain tolerance. Breaking bones hurt more if you are still growing. When or if you break a bone, it could be a lot worse than you think it is. Broken bones can lead to worse things and more pain. You might have to get surgery, if you get surgery then the recovery time will be longer. Surgery will make the pain much worse. When you break a bone it might swell up and get all discolored/bruised. There is 6 types of breaks, open, closed, multiple, comminuted, green stick, and spiral. Older people have more brittle bones. Physician can detect broken bones in many different ways.
Chapter 2

When you get x-rays they put your broken bone on a mat and take pictures of the bones threw the flesh of your body. The mat is actually a drawer that they use to project a picture threw your flesh They use 3 different mats to take the pictures, they put a lead mat over the rest of your body were the x-ray isn't being taken. Then they might refer you to get a cat scan. Cat scans are like a giant round camera that takes x-Rays of the spot you broke
Chapter 3
If you need to get surgery after breaking a bone, the surgery could last any where from 1 hour to how many hours it takes for the surgery to be over. There is a couple types of surgery like replacement and reconstructive. The doctor makes an incision how big that depends on how big they need to make it.
Chapter 4
Recovery will take any were from 4 weeks to 6 months. You will be in a cast for a while. casts are plaster and it is wrapped around gauze. it could take any were from a week to 6 months to get the cast off. With a cast you will have to be careful of not getting it wet
