A Rock Story

There once was a huge sedimentary rock. This rock was very happy but then over the years weathering and erosion happened and the big rock slowly started to crumble. Then three medium sized rocks were formed and they were called Emma, Tom, and Eliza. They all had a great time together. But then they were swept up because of a flood. Suddenly Emma was separated form Tom and Eliza.

Emma smashed in to the wall and turned in to sediments. "Nooooo" Tom and Eliza said as they watched there friend drift in the water. As they were flying down the flooded cannon the saw Igneous rocks, metamorphic rocks and sedimentary rocks like themselves all were going down the cannon. As Emma flew down the river a lot of her gathered among other rocks that were sediments. During the flood lots deposition of different rocks were gathering. She saw Tom and Eliza tumble and turn as the flood carried them.

"Tom what will we do with out Emma?" said Eliza. "I don't know" he replied. "well she hopefully wont stay as sediments forever...oh she might go through the rock cycle and become a beautiful new rock!" he said happily. As Emma layed there she got compacted into the other rocks slowly over time. During that flood both of tom and Emma passed out and they woke up in a really dark hot place. "what is this place" said tom. "I don't know" said Eliza. Soon tom and Emma both experienced convection. Eliza slowly started to melt away form tom as he sayed there parshely melted with other rocks. Eliza slowly melted and became magma. she bubbled but never got the chance to become lava. As the magma she was in cooled. The silicon dioxide crystallized as it cooled. Then, when the temperature or pressure drops, she saturated, so quartz crystals form in and around her.

Eliza had beautiful edges and she was so pretty as a mineral. Other minerals around her taught her that she was a Intrusive igneous rock. She was delighted with here new friends but she still missed tom and Emma. She was found by a small girl and was now a decoration. Tom was all alone but then he melted with another rock and became a solid rock. he and his new buddy became the best of friends. The were melted together so now tom was a metamorphic rock. Tom and his buddy made new friends and were happy. Emma finally got to see the sun as she became a new sedimentary rock. She was really pretty. They all never saw each other again but they all missed each other deeply. They all lived happily ever after.
