The Fuenfria valley is an unique enclave of the ``Sierra de Guadarrama´´, a mountainous formation that belongs to the Central system.

Numerous streams pass through the Fuenfría valley. There is an abundance of vegetation, and the wild pine forest covers almost the entire surface of the valley.

There are many quiet landscapes and there are also many streams like the Venta stream

The most characteristic fauna of Cercedilla is associated with the dense pine forests. There you can see the roe deer, the red squirrel that feeds on the pine nuts of the Albar pine and various forest birds such as the jay (Cyanistes caeruleus) also known as the common crouch.

In the valley of Fuenfria there is a tourist center full of mountaineers and tourists. In this town there are quite a few hotels, lodges and restaurants. The great influx of tourists and mountaineers has made construction of a vistor center necessary at the bottom of the valley. It also has; parking, restaurants, picnic areas, trails that run through the valley and natural pools built over the Venta stream.

It is important because it is surrounded by magnificent wild pine forests . It is a natural environment of great environmental value

ACCESS

The Fuenfria Valley has a train station where the C-9 line of Cercanías Madrid ends. The train also stops at the port of Navacerrada and the port of Cotos. Access by public transport: Larrea buses: 684 and 685, with several stops in Cercedilla. RENFE commuter: Line C8b, Cercedilla station. If you opt for the latter two, you can climb to the center in different ways from the train station: Walking along the road that runs parallel to Las Dehesas road. The intercity bus goes to the Hospital de La Fuenfria and stops at the city center near the path to Puricelli Road.

The Fuenfría valley is located in the central area of the `` Sierra de Guadarrama´´, on its southern slope. It is located in the Spanish municipality of Cercedilla, in the Community of Madrid.
